Hello my loves! How are you doing? How has your new year been so far? I finished my winter session classes at last, so I am home free for the next week! I recently realized that I have not written a single Caleo fic in this book. I should fix that. I realized how much I missed Caleo when I wrote my New Year's Eve fic. I really hope I do them justice. Let me know what you think in the comments! Also, I am writing an original story! It's called To Breathe Again. If you'd like, give that a read as well and let me know what you think!
This story is set a little bit into the future. Calypso and Leo have an apartment together, but they are still dating.
Leo Valdez never got sick. That wasn't an exaggeration, he couldn't actually remember the last time he was sick. It was probably before the machine shop fire, but Leo had tried his best to block those memories out.
The fact that Leo hadn't been sick in 10 plus years apparently didn't matter to the nasty flu that currently had him bedridden.
Being able to stay in bed and be waited on hand and foot by your super HOT girlfriend might be any other guys dream, but for Leo it was torture. His ADHD had him going stir crazy and Calypso refused to let him go farther than the bathroom by himself, not that he could have made it much farther if he tried.
Leo grabbed his tool belt that was sitting next to his bed and rifled through it until his hand closed around a screwdriver and an oil rag that contained various nuts and bolts that he tinkered with when he was bored or nervous. Calypso walked in just as he was sitting up on his pillows. She had a steaming mug of something in her hands.
"How are you feeling?"
"About as good as I felt after getting blown out of the sky by Gaea." Leo croaked with a pout.
Calypso walked over and put a hand to his forehead. Leo leaned into her touch. Her hands were so soft and cool.
"You're fever is still running pretty hot, but I think it's still too early for more medicine. I made you some tea. The wind spirits on Ogygia made this for me all the time. It should at least help sooth your throat."
Leo took the mug and looked at it's contents. The tea was a greenish gold color, almost like Green Tea. He took a cautious sip and swallowed. Since Leo didn't really have functioning taste buds at the moment, he couldn't really tell what it tasted of, except that there was a strong lemon taste.
Leo felt a stab of pain behind his eyes and he squeezed them shut.
"Headache?"
"Yeah."
"I'll leave you to get some rest. Let me know if you need anything else. I'll come back in a little while with more medicine." Calypso took the mug of tea from Leo and set it on his bedside table. She turned his bedside lamp off and closed the door behind her. Leo sank back under his covers and tried to will his headache away.
He was still awake and trying to massage his headache away when Calypso returned with some Ibuprofen. Leo quickly swallowed the pills.
"Would you stay with me until I fall asleep?" This came out sounding a lot whinier than Leo had intended, but he couldn't help it. Being sick made him emotional.
"Of course darling."
Leo made room for Calypso beside him and she sat against the headboard running her fingers through his hair until he fell asleep.
Leo woke a while later feeling less like he had just been brought back from the dead and more like he had been lightly slammed into a wall, which was an improvement over the last few days. He was slightly surprised to find an empty space on the bed next to him. He tried to call for Calypso, but his voice was basically a whisper at this point. Leo decided that there was no other option than to leave his burrow of blankets.
This feat took a lot longer than Leo had planned. He hadn't realized how weak he was until he put his legs over the edge of the bed and planted his feet on the floor, only to stumble and almost face plant. Leo quickly recovered, grabbed a blanket from his makeshift nest, threw it onto his shoulders like a cape, and shuffled toward the living room.
Leo walked into the living room to see Calypso asleep on their couch. She was curled in on herself and had her arms wrapped tightly around her waist. Leo walked over to Calypso and knelt down beside her. She was paler than usual and she was shivering slightly. Leo took the blanket from around his shoulders and draped it over his sleeping girlfriend. Calypso immediately relaxed and her breathing evened out. Leo brushed the hair out of her eyes and just looked down at her for a moment. He got so wrapped up that he let out a little yelp when she opened her eyes suddenly.
"Love, what are you doing out of bed? You're sick and you need to heal."
Leo took note of the raspiness of her voice.
"I think that makes two of us. You've been waiting on me hand and foot for the last few days, now it's my turn."
"I'm not sick though." Calypso coughed lightly.
"Don't even try to deny it. You probably caught my flu and I am going to take care of you. Deal with it." Leo tried for his sassiest smirk.
Calypso gave a resigned sigh.
"Okay, fine." She tried to get up.
"Nope, not happening." Leo made to pick her up and she gave him a dubious look.
"Do you remember what happened the last time you tried to pick me up? Not to mention that you hadn't been in bed for three days at that point."
Leo cringed at the memory and absently rubbed his left butt cheek.
"Yeah, fine. I guess I'll let you walk."
Calypso got up from the couch and the two made their way back to the bedroom and snuggled up under the nest of blankets once again. This was how they spent the next few days until both were at 100% again.
