Hello my lovelies! I got a request from LittleBurningRadio back in January for some sick Alex and some sick of their sh*t Magnus. I hope this is what you had in mind! I'm so sorry it took so long dear, my inbox is a mess rn. Please have this super mushy FierroChase fic and forgive me?

P.S. Canon divergence. Per usual.

P.P.S. Would anyone like me to write a fic about the aftermath of ToA: The Burning Maze? I'm having lots of feelings and I'm sure everyone else is too.

A few days ago Alex and Magnus had been out and about in Boston. Alex had drug him along to get some more pottery supplies. It was so cold out that it was in the single digits and it was raining. Also, Alex hadn't bothered to bring an umbrella and only wore a distressed pink denim jacket. When Magnus had mentioned it, Alex had said something about how keeping up his aesthetic was more important than warmth.

"You're going to regret that, Fierro." Magnus said as he pulled his coat tighter around himself.

"Calm down Bean Town." Alex laughed at his unintentional rhyme. "I'm pretty sure we can't even get sick."

"I thought we agreed to not call me that anymore."

"Would you prefer we revisit "Maggie?"

Magnus sighed exasperatedly as Alex smirked and they went on their way.

However, apparently they could get sick. Specifically, Alex could get sick.

"I'll be totally fine Magnus. Einharji can't get sick."

"For the record, I said I'm pretty sure. Also, it's just a cold. I've dealt with worse. I'm fine." Alex pointed out as he and Magnus sat down to breakfast. His voice sounded thick and raspy.

"You should just take the day off. It'll only get worse if you push yourself." Magnus pointed out.

"Thanks mom, but I can take care of myself."

"Whatever you say Fierro." Magnus agreed, but wasn't convinced. Alex was notorious for not paying attention to his own basic needs. Magnus decided that if Alex wouldn't take the day to rest he would just have to keep a close eye on him.

"Aren't you eating?" Magnus gestured to Alex's empty plate.

"Not hungry." Alex said simply. He sniffled and rubbed at his red, raw nose.

Magnus almost said that Alex should at least try to eat something, but decided against it. The look on Alex's face said that he should just let it go.

They ate in silence until the rest of the floor nineteen crew barreled through the door. Mallory and Half-Born seemed to be arguing, it was hard to tell with those two, and TJ was talking to a girl who was dressed in what looked like an aviator's outfit.

"Alex, are you okay?" TJ asked as he sat down.

"I'm fine." Alex brushed him off.

TJ didn't look convinced, but shrugged and turned to Magnus.

"We need to discuss battle strategy for tonight."

"Tonight?" Alex looked up.

"It's Thursday, remember?" Mallory chimed in.

"Oh yeah. Fun times." Alex said. He didn't have the usual gleam in his eye when he said it though.

"We'll meet up later to discuss, but Blitz and Hearth are going to be here any minute. They said they have something to show me."

Magnus gave Alex one last doubtful look and waved goodbye as he headed back to his room.

Magnus had just gotten back to his room when he heard rustling in the world tree, Yggdrasil, that ran through the center of the hotel and, subsequently, his room. A moment later, his favorite dwarf and elf came tumbling from the branches.
