If I loved like my mother.
I'd love like a slave master.
See I'm property.
And to raise me properly
Means to beat into me her false senses of sanity.
With her fucked up morality.
But ain't that how you love family.
I have a tendency
To speak
Without being spoken to.
Or As my Mama would say
Not knowing my place
Or as Masa would say
Not knowing my place.
Nothing teaches the holy word of God like a punch to the face.
I hate the way copper taste.
If I had a dollar for every time my mama called me a triflin bitch I could buy my freedom.
All this to say. If I loved like my mother.
I wouldn't have children.
