"You can tell when someone is moving forward. When the doubts about it go away."

Chapter Eight:

A knock on the door awakens me the next day.

"Yes?" I yell sleepily.

"It's four in the afternoon Annalina."

I groan.
Fuck me.

I close my eyes for a few minutes before finally getting up.

Last night I had stayed up until three in the morning practicing the song I was going to be singing tonight.

Tonight.

Shit.

I let out an unbelievable laugh while looking at myself in the bathroom mirror.

"You're really doing this Annalina. You're fucking doing this."

I let out another laugh and get into the shower.

After, I get dressed in a simple outfit consisting of a T-shirt and jeans, and some converse, it was already five.

I walk out my room and go down to the living room where Uncle Lennie was watching a sports channel on T.V.

"Good afternoon sleepy head. How you feeling? Excited?"

"Uhh I'm feeling everything from excitement to anticipation to nervousness." I say counting my feelings on my fingers.

"Those are a lot of feelings. Don't worry, everything will be fine." He says with a reassuring smile.

Ignoring my inner feelings, I smile back. I walk to the kitchen and get some coffee from the coffee pot, and add sugar and milk.

"I need to be there no later than seven. Can you drop me off?" I ask him.

"No problem kiddo. Just make sure you keep a close eye to the time, two hours go by faster than you think." Uncle Lennie advises.

I nod and finish my coffee with one last gulp.

"I'm going to go to this music store I found yesterday while exploring, I'll be back in an hour to get ready." I tell my uncle while washing my mug.

He raises his eyebrows.
"Are you sure that's a good idea, Annalina? You've only got two hours before you have to go."

"I know the timing is tight, but I just don't want to keep thinking about what happens if I don't make it through tonight. I want to take my mind off of it for at least an hour."

His gaze softens.
"Annalina you don't have to worry about not making it, you're the greatest singer I've ever heard. You'll do great honey." Uncle Lennie tells me.

I smile.
"Thank you for always believing in me."

"I did yesterday, I do today, and I will tomorrow. Don't take too long." He instructs.

I nod eagerly.
"I promise I'll be back by five."
And with that I grab my purse and walk outside.

After twenty minutes of peaceful walking, I reach the street with the music store.
I eagerly open the door, walk inside, and hear the familiar ring of the bell.

"Welcome to Music Lovers, British girl who came in yesterday." The same guy from the day before with the blue hair yells cheerily.

I smile and walk to the vinyl section yet again.
"My name is Annalina." I say as I reach it.
