Annalina Estrada used to be in a band with her three best friends: Colton, Eric, and the guy who made her feel things she couldn't explain, Gabriel.
That was until they left without a goodbye or an explanation. They went to the United States and f...

"Annalina."
I look towards my mother.
"Your phone keeps ringing, please answer it, I can't concentrate on the movie with that noise." She tells me with a frown on her face.
"Oh sorry mom, I just didn't want to stop watching it. It's quite good." I tell her apologetically, while grabbing my phone and walking out the room.
I look at the still ringing phone in my hands, and don't recognize the number, except that it's from America.
"Hello?" I say into the phone.
"Hi, is this Annalina Estrada?" A perky American voice asks from the line.
"This is she," I say even more confused.
"Well I am honored to deliver the news that your audition to Sing It made the first cut! You will have to be in Orlando in a week for you to perform in front of our judges and audience!"
My eyes widen.
Oh bloody shit!
I made it!
"Ms. Estrada? Are you still on the line?"
"Y-yes. I- I'm going to be there. When is the performance?"
"You must be at the theater promptly at 6 O'clock on Saturday. Four days from today." She answers.
"Thank you. I will be there." I say in monotonous tone, still shocked.
"Great! Sing It is proud to be trusted with your talent, have a nice day!" And with that, the lady hangs up.
I lean against the door of my mom's hospital room and slide down.
I look at the phone on my hand.
Did that just really happen?
"Ma'm are you okay?" A voice above me speaks.
I look at the nurse in front of me and hastily stand up.
"Yes, sorry, I will be going back into my mothers room now." Without waiting for a reply I open the door and lean against it breathing wildly.
"Annalina? What's wrong?" My mother's sweet voice says from two feet away from me.
I try to control my breathing. "I-I just received a call from America."
"America? What did they say?" My mum asks confused.
"I made it into the competition,"I say with awe.
My moms eyes water, and a huge smile appears on her thin face.
"Oh, Annalina." She says laughing a little at the end.
"Mom." I say with tears running down my face.
I get up from the floor and immediately embrace her in a hug.
"I knew you could do it." She whispers in my ear.
I smile softly, and stand up once again.
"I'm going to book my ticket for Friday, I'll be there a day earlier."
"That's good, honey. I wish I could have come with you." My mother says sadly.
"How many times do I have to say it? You'll be there in spirit mom, I know you're going to be watching from here." I tell her with a smile.
She laughs softly. "That's true. I wouldn't miss it for the world."
I sigh and take a seat at the edge of her bed.
"What If I don't even make the second cut?"
The judges of Sing It don't get to see the contestants who made it via the video audition chosen by the producers until their first performance with a live audience.
She frowns. "How can you say that? Of course you'll make it, you are an exceptional singer."
I smile at her. "Thank you mum. That's all I needed to hear."
She pats my knee.
"What song will you sing?"
I smile with barely hidden enthusiasm.
"Let's just say I'm feeling good."

So sorry for the late, short update guys, school has had me busy with a test like every two days.
I'm so excited for this book, all the good, juicy stuff is about to begin, I'll be introducing the other main character, Gabriel, who I am the most excited to write about.
And please don't stop reading because of the late updates, they will get faster and longer the more I carry on with the story, but trust me on this, it's just the beginning of a dramatic, romantic, hilarious, thrilling, adventurous, exciting, self-discovery novel with moments that will have you laugh, cry, and try to lock yourself in a closet with the amount of romance and dramatics.
Thank you for sticking around those of you who have, and those who will.
