Tonight would be the third show I was gonna perform at and it was in LA. I skipped Vancouver and Oakland because I had a cold and couldn't sing properly. Seattle was a bit rocky but I survived.
Like in Portland, we had interviews. There we had 1 interview but there were 3 planned for the first day and then two radio interviews before we left in the late afternoon so we could be on time in San Diego on the 14th.
I was super nervous even though I'd already done it but this was Clevver news, a huge showbiznews channel, something people from the entire world followed- Nooz was just a local thing. This was big.
Charlie had joined us for the first interview- the clevver news one- and I was seated in between them.
It was hot and put so closely together made it almost unbearable. I was sweating like a sinner in church and it was not okay.
It was so obvious how bad it was for me but I warned them beforehand that the warmth effects me badly- they should've listened.
Shawn and I didn't speak about the thing that happened in Portland that evening. Though I wanted to, I couldn't get the courage to do so.
His sister, Aaliyah- who had joined us in Vancouver with their parents- knew about it because I told her and she told me that Shawn wouldn't say that if he didn't mean it. After that she added that she understood him, because I was apparently 'drop dead gorgeous'. That had made me blush.
Manuel Mendes was a force to be reconned with. He was so funny, he teases me all the time- something I do too. When he begins I just join him.
Karen is the typical mom. Very worried but understands that her son is an adult who knows what he is doing and that he is important to a lot of fans.
Because Shawn won't allow her to fuss over him, I'm her next victim- not that I really care. She makes sure that I call my family, that I drink enough, that I eat enough, etc... Mom is very grateful for her, I can see them becoming great friends.
This interview is different because Clevver has their own studio and there wasn't enough time so they couldn't run me through it.
It was be Tracey Davis who would be interviewing us, something I was very excited about because she was my favorite.
Before I knew it, she had anounced us already and was talking to us.
"Sabrina." She adressed me. "You're new to all of this, before this you were actually a girl from a small town in a relatively small village, tell me- how are you dealing with all of this?"
"Honestly, it hasn't been the easiest thing I've ever done." I admitted. "But I was lucky, I have these two with me who help me a lot and then their teams who are with us. Andrew especially has been a great help to me because he always gives me advise and such so that makes it easier."
"But it's not easy?"
"No, I don't think it is for anyone anyway. If I look at these two, I can see that it's still difficult for them at times and I get that. If I were to keep doing this and stay in this bussiness I doubt it'd ever be truly easy for me either."
She nodded. "What's the hardest part for you that really sticks out?"
"I think it's the fans. They're great and stuff, I really love them because the support they give me is unreal but it's also still unreal to me that if I go out, there will be people who want to take pictures with me and want my autograph- it's weird. They also have certain expectations and since you don't want to disappoint them you try to do everything you can to live up to those expectations but it's not always that easy."
"Yeah," Charlie agreed. "I can totally relate to what she says. When I am like rehearsing or like, making new songs, I always have to think of my fans and if they would approve it. If they don't or I think they won't then I don't release the new music or I just rehearse and rehearse again until I think it is something they will agree to. That's why Attention was so difficult for me to release- it was different from everything I'd done before."
"Yeah, same with There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back. People- the fans- they're used to something and that was not it. I totally get these two, while our fans are amazing, they also make it 'difficult' for us." He placed the difficult between air quotes because the fans are not difficult but it's just not easy because we don't know what they like.
"Sabrina, now something lighter." Tracey anounced. "You've been seen wearing a lot of Harry Potter stuff- I presume you're a fan?"
Shawn snorted but I ignored him. "Yeah, I'm a huge fan."
"Have you been sorted?"
"Yes, I'm a Slytherin."
"Hence the bracelet with the horcruxes?"
"Indeed."
"I still can't believe you ship Tomione and Dramione." Shawn huffed.
"Ooh, Hermione with a bad boy, huh?" Tracey asked.
"Wel, yeah. I love the dark hermione fics especially. If you read fanfiction, check out Cleotheo because she's amazing and she is as obsessed with Dramione as I am." I advertised.
"You're going to the Teen Choice Awards to possibly accept an award. You were still in Belgium when you heard you were nominated for social network break out. How was that?"
"Unreal. I mean, I had only joined Shawn on stage once and a couple of weeks later I hear that people- people my own age- had nominated me as social media breakout star. Not to forget female break out."
"It sounds so surrealistic."
"Sometimes it feels that way as well! There are times I have to pinch myself to remind me that it is all real."
"Tom Felton will be there as well for his role in the Flash- are you excited?"
"Oh yeah, I can't wait to finally meet him!"
"I'm sure you are. That's it guys, all the questions I have for you. Thanks for coming here and you guys zt home- thanks for watching! I'm Tracey Davis and this was Clevver News!"
