"Hello?"

"Rise and shine cupcake! We're going somewhere."

"Scott? It's five in the morning. Where could we possibly be going?"

"If I told you, it wouldn't be a secret." Mitch found himself smiling through his sleepy haze.

"Didn't our date only end like four hours ago?"

"Yes, but I wanted to take you on another one. Trust me?" It was the second time Scott had asked him that and Mitch was almost positive the answer should be no, but it wasn't.

"Yeah. Yes, I trust you. Where are you?" There was a laugh on the other end of the phone and then a gentle series of knocks sounded on Mitch's front door. "You're here?! Oh my god, no I look so bad and I have bed head. Scooootttt!"

"You're cute when you're whiny, and you're beautiful always. Come let me in."

"I swear I look gross."

"Let me in, baby." Mitch hung up once he got to the door. He was truly a mess. His hair was sticking in every direction, he was positive he had bags under his eyes, and the oversized shirt he was wearing was practically hanging off one of his shoulders. He opened the door for the blond nonetheless.

"Hi." He watched the taller man smile down at him and then he was being pulled into a warm hug.

"Good morning, sunshine!" Scott placed a light kiss to Mitch's temple before taking half of a step back. "Go get dressed. You're gonna love it. Oh! Wear something warm. It's kind of chilly outside!"

"How are you so energetic at five in the fucking morning?" Scott rolled his eyes and began ushering the smaller man in the general direction of the bedroom.

"Coffee. Speaking of which, I have coffee in my car for you now go."

"Okay, okay! Bossy Betty."

It took Mitch less than ten minutes to brush his teeth and throw on an outfit and before he knew what was happening, Scott was helping him into his car and placing a coffee in his palms. Despite being tired, Mitch had to admit that he was looking forward to whatever Scott had planned. He was excited about it which made Mitch excited.

"Will you tell me where we're going?" Blue eyes bore down into brown ones and the smirk on the taller man's face answered Mitch's question.

"I promise you'll like it. I think."

"That's reassuring." Scott couldn't help but laugh at the comment and the sound brought a smile to Mitch's own lips. "I had a really good time with you yesterday. I can't remember if I said thank you or not, so thank you. It was beautiful."

Mitch didn't pull back when Scott reached for his hand to hold.

"I'm glad you liked it. I was hoping you would. I've never taken anyone there before. I'm glad I took you." The feeling of Scott's thumb smithing circles into the back of Mitch's hand caused butterflies to raise in his stomach. "Isn't it funny to think the only reason we met was because you were too short to see in a crowd of people and I literally ran you over? What are the chances?"

"I know. Such a romantic story. I can't wait to tell it at the next family reunion." Mitch felt his muscles tense as soon as the words left his mouth. He'd known this man a total of 24 hours and he had already alluded to bringing him home to the family? Stupidstupidstupid.

"Already planning to bring me home to mom and dad, huh?"

"I'm so sorry, that just sort of slipped out. I know I just met you yesterday and I definitely shouldn't have said that. Fuck." The blond smiled again and lifted the smaller man's hand to his face to press a reassuring kiss to the back of it.
