The bell rang, interrupting me from my nervous trance. Cuz now I was downright scared.

I scurried from the library to my locker. I would usually encounter Rylan along the way, but he wasn't at his locker. I let out a breath of relief, since that meant he hasn't gotten to his locker yet and I would probably leave before he could find me.

I went to my locker, got my stuff as quickly as I could, not even bothering to say good-bye to any of my other friends. I charged out the doors of my school and searched for my car. Just down the block. No sign of Rylan anywhere. I could make it.

I ran until someone pounced on me.

"Harry??? What are you doing???"

"Ah," said Rylan coming out of no where, "You thought you were home free. You trusted everything was working out and that your plan would come together perfectly. Until someone who you trusted so much came and ruined it all. I've been there."

"Harry, get off of me!! You're squishing my ribs!!"

"Okay!" said Harry cheerily as usual.

"HARRY SIT YOUR ASS BACK DOWN ON HIS RIBS!!"

"Okay!" he replied cheerfully again.

Gosh, he seemed so skinny but his ass had the power of 172673 elephants to squash a person.

"So Connor," said Rylan, "No use hiding from your problems. Fess up. Why did you do it."

"She could've gotten in trouble Rylan."

"Ugh, of course of course, it's all about her. Why am I not surprised. What do you even see in her anyway??? Seriously!!! She's ugly and stupid and no one even likes her!!!"

"Take the time to get to know her Rylan."

"Do I even have to??? Just looking at her I already know exactly go he is. A stupid emo whore!!!"

"Don't say that about her. Don't you fucking say that about her."

"Or else what Connor? Ugh, I can't believe you've replaced me with HER."

"I didn't replace you. Ain't nothing wrong with making new friends."

"It's wrong if you've gone completely against your best friend."

"It's not going against you if I'm trying to save my friend!!! She could've gotten expelled due to your crazy prank!!!"

"Ugh," he said cocking his head back, "We used to have so much fun, doing the craziest pranks..."

"Rylan, I hope you realize how childish your pranks really are. Messing with the principal, messing with the school... All for what benefit?"

"Ohh my gosh Harry... Look at him... The emo freak has broken him!!!"

"Don't call her an emo freak!!!"

"EMO FREAK EMO FREAK EMO FREAK!!!"

I rolled my eyes. Yup. Sooooo not childish at all.

"Why Connor? Why?"

"Why what?"

"Why did you just go and manipulate me like that? Huh? Wanna tell me why?"

"I told you. To protect my friend."

"And by doing it, you decide to manipulate me???"

"What goes around comes around.You manipulate her, I manipulate you."

He shook his head disappointedly, "What happened to my best friend?"

"He stood up for someone who was his true best friend."

Rylan stared at me angrily. I could tell he was about to cry. He was probably about to slap me, but stopped himself and walked away dramatically. Harry followed after but Rylan pushed him away and the two took off in separate directions.

"So," said her voice behind me, "You did that all for me."

I went up to her and hugged her. She hugged me back. And I didn't ever wanna lose my best friend.
