Chapter 26 -Apologies

SYDNEY GREY

Sydney gave the guys enough time to get it all out. She hoped the guys would be done by now. Logan had been with them helping them ladies pick out dresses and giving them an honest opinion on each dress they tried out.

Logan told her to give the guys an hour or two.

By the time she came home she had dozens of bags. She had called Alyssa on her ride up and that woman had yelled so loudly for disappearing on her that Sydney was deaf in one ear.  Sydney had apologised and Alyssa said she got a modeling gig on saturday.

She fumbled with the keys as Alyssa droned about the speciifics of the event.

When she opened the door, she gasped. The bags fell down and her phone slipped down her shoulder.

To say the living room was a mess would've been an understatement. There was glass everywhere. The coffee table was smashed and so were two decanters that Sean kept on one of the tables by the wall. A bouquet of roses sat crumpled on the floor.

The sofa was tilted back, a strong smell wafted as she slowly wadded through the mess. Bottles of beer were smashed and that smell of alcohol made her want to puke right there.

She walked over to the kitchen and there these two morons sprawled on the floor giggling and drinking from the cans.

"What the fuck is going on?" she yelled so loudly she was sure the whole city heard her.

"Hi babe." Sean beamed at her,

"Don't you hi babe me. And what the fuck is wrong with you two."

Dan was pressing a cold ice pack to his jaw. He had a split lip and she was sure his left eye was turning black. He was shirtless so she could see a bruise forming on his ribs.

Sean had a cut on his cheeks and his eye was turning black too. He got up and limped towards her.

"Why are you limping?"

"He cheated." he murmured sheepishly.

"I did not. You should've protected your balls."

"You both, clean that fucking mess and clean up yourselves." she said exasperatedly as she pinched the bridge of her nose to stop the scream that wanted to escape her lips

"Juveniles." she muttered under her breath.

"But-" Sean started

And she cut him "You're sleeping alone tonight."

She winced as the glass crunched under her vans every single time she took a step.

Rubbing her hand over her face she wondered if she could ever come out sane if Sean kept acting like that.

********

"They're guys, Syd. That's how they behave." he said.

"I don't see you behaving like that." she defended

"That's because I'm the sensible one. They fought and that's a good thing Syd. They got everything out. Now, they'll find it easy to talk about it. " Logan conceded

"They destroyed the house. I mean, I shouldn't care, it's Sean's after all but..." she trailed.

"Would you like it if I call mom and tell her to yell at them?"

"Well, I would since they acted like a bunch of teenagers."

"Just go sit with them, Make them clean everything and get them to talk."

"Fine."

"Good girl." he drawled and hung up.

Pressing two fingers to her temple she tried to ward of the imminent headache and heeded Logan's words.

By the time she came out everything was cleaned and they were sitting on the sofa nursing a glass of water. Atleast she hoped it'd be water.

"How did you guys clean it so fast?" she asked shocked at the turn of events.

"Because I do not want to sleep alone. I'm sorry." He pouted "Also you were in there for an hour."

"And there is this thing called Professional Cleaners. Since I tend to muddy my carpet and soil every room of my house, I have them on speed dial." Dan continued

"Didn't we agree to not tell her that?"

"Did we?" Dan asked with a mischievous glint in his eyes.

"You two are impossible." she groaned and dropped down on one of the armchairs.

"Since you had been exchanging punches, I guess you haven't talked about the accident."

"Oh everything's fine Syd. This is how we talk. We are okay."

She gave them the coldest glare. "Talk"

"Man my dick just curled in itself."Dan shuddered.

"You won't have a dick at all if you don't open your mouth and talk about the accident."

"Fine. I'm sorry, Sean"

"Why are you sorry? It was my fault. And I'm sorry."

"Yo made me feel as if I did something wrong this whole time because you were guilty?" Dan frowned and turned to Sydney, "You dating this asshole?"

"What can I say?" she shrugged and bit into her lip to suppress her smile.

"You're supposed to be on my side." Sean frowned her way

"I am, darling" she said in that sweet saccharine tone that used to aggravate Logan

Sean suddenly became serious. "I know it was my fault." Sean reached over and grabbed his chin to angle his face in such a way that Sean could see the faded scar that he still bore every single day.

"I'm sorry that I almost killed you that day." Sean shuddered at the memory and Syd fought the urge to wrap her arms around him. This was between them and they needed to get this out.

"I was never going to forgive you because it wasn't your fault either. We were fighting, and it happens but you turned your back on me Sean. That's not something I can forgive very easily. Logan is a saint and he can forgive you but I can't. I need time."

"I'm okay with that. I just want you to know that I'm gonna be there for you. I'm not gonna close you out anymore."

"That's enough for me right now."

"I'm sorry to interrupt on the moment but you guys never said what happened"

"It is silly actually." Dan chuckled nervously "I broke his favorite GI Joe figurine and we were fighting. And then everything was happening fast, I slipped or lost my balance or I don't know, I fell down the stairs, there was a vase on a console table at the end of the stairs, I banged my head there, the vase fell and broke  and since I banged pretty hard I fell unconscious right there. Cut my cheek on the glass."

"Because of a G I Joe figurine?" she asked dubiously.

Sean flushed and this time Sydney couldn't stop the laughter that bubbled out.

"This is fucking awesome. You were fighting for a stupid figurine?"

"GI Joe isn't stupid."Dan defended. .Sydney stopped laughing and looked at the guys who looked at her with frown, both of them all serious, hands folded across their chest.

'You're serious?" she raised an eyebrow.

"You know what, maybe I will sleep alone tonight."
