#HSFChapter3
BURNING RED
~~
I heaved a sigh and chose the red electric guitar. In-advise kasi sa amin na we can choose an instrument of our own. Every step seemed heavier as I went nearer to the stage. Isang buntong hininga na naman ang pinakawalan ko bago umakyat ng stage.

Limang judge and nakita ko dun. Dalawang nasa mid forties tho they look like in their early thirties, a man and a woman. Dalawang I think nasa early twenties. Omgg. They're celebrities! I saw them once in a YouTube ad! They're part of the band, Never Existed! And an old woman who's I think in her mid fifties na. They were busy scanning some paper and they didn't notice I was up stage.

"Ehem." I faked a cough to get their attention and luckily I did.

"Oh hi young miss." The woman in her forties greeted me. And I politely smiled.

"Miss Sophia Bellareine Yoon, right?" The old woman asked.

"Yes, ma'am." I answered.

"I see, you're eighteen years old." She said while nodding and scanning my papers.

"Why would you like to be a superstar?" She asked. I was taken aback. I thought we're just going to perform. Omyghaaad.

"A-ah. I believe that I was born for this. Music is my life. I would always find my way back home because of music. I wanted to show the world what music means to me. And it means life for someone like me. It means a bridge to fulfill my dreams. It means more than just songs, tune, rhythm and melody. I wanted everybody to hear what I hear when I listen to music. That's why I wanted to be a superstar."

"Hmm. Well said, miss Yoon. Now, let us hear from you." I held the necklace my mom owned tightly. Mom be with me please. I stood straight holding the guitar and started strumming.

"Loving him is like driving a new Maserati down a dead-end street
Faster than the wind, passionate as sin, ending so suddenly."

I started to do some hand movements rin while singer. The other woman is looking at me intently, pinanliliitan pa niya ako ng mata. I noticed kanina nung nakita niya ako, para siyang nakakita ng multo.

"Loving him is like trying to change your mind once you're already flying through the free fall
Like the colors in autumn, so bright just before they lose it all."

Pumikit ako at inihanda ang sarili ko to let it all out. It should be now. Yes magkakaroon pa ako ng chance for another audition but it should be now. I closed my eyes and felt my mom beside me.

"Losing him was blue like I'd never known
Missing him was dark grey all alone
Forgetting him was like trying to know somebody you never met
But loving him was red
Loving him was red."

I can see the judges smiling, the two superstars were nodding their head, the man was tapping his fingers, the woman was singing with me pero hindi ito naririnig and the old woman was smiling widely.

🎶Touching him was like realizing all you ever wanted was right there in front of you
Memorizing him was as easy as knowing all the words to your old favorite song

I always see myself up the stage singing my heart out. I always dream about playing instruments in front of everybody. I always see myself expressing what I feel inside through a song. I always wanted to let them know what music is, na there's so much more than the ears can hear.
