It felt like a long time until Friday, but eventually the day arrived. The bell sounded the end of the school day and I let my class out to their parents for the last time that week. I said goodbye to Dani as she left promptly at the same time as the children and once the last child had been handed over I shoved all my work in my bag and hurried out of the door after them. I had to be in London in just less than three and a half hours and I was determined to be there on time, if not earlier, but also well presented, so I needed to get home and get ready.

I ran through my apartment door, letting it slam behind me. I threw my bags down in the narrow hallway and began pulling my clothes off for a shower. I had two hours to be ready in before I needed to be at the train station, at the latest. I showered, washing my hair in the process, brushed my teeth and removed my day’s make-up. I moisturised and began again: primer, eyebrows, foundation, powder, eye shadow in a shade called ‘bronzed beauty’, bronzer, blusher, mascara and natural looking false eyelashes.

I then blow-dried my hair, adding some hairspray so that the waves I had styled into it stayed in place. I then changed my normal little silver earrings for some small sparkly hanging ones.

Hanging on the side of my wardrobe was my dress. I had managed to get late-night shopping the previous night with Dani and had found the perfect dress, thank goodness! It was from Lipsy, and it was rather expensive. But I thought it was worth, after all, how many chances was I going get to go to somewhere like the Royal Albert Hall with a very gorgeous man as my date? It hadn’t happened until now so I was guessing that my chances of it happening again were pretty slim.

So I invested in the VIP range dress, which was a stunning floor length gown, strapless, a vibrant red with a slight slit up the left leg. I thought it was a bit much first of all, but once I tried it on Dani convinced me I had to have it, telling me how much Tom would love me in it and how I looked incredible in it. Truth be told I didn’t believe her as situations like that made me feel rather uncomfortable, but it was a beautiful dress so in the end Dani had talked me into it.

So I took it down from the wardrobe, stepped into it and zipped myself in. The last few things I had to do was slip on my silver strappy heeled sandals, add a coat of red lip gloss to my lips put my phone and other necessities into my bejewelled silver clutch bag a slip on my black faux fur jacket. I was ready.

I walked down to the train station carefully in my heels. Luckily it was only a five minute walk from my apartment so it didn’t take long. I approached the entrance of the station when just then I hear a voice.

‘Miss Barks?’ said the voice.

I turned around to see who had spoken, and saw a short man wearing a suit. He looked familiar.

‘Yes,’ I replied cautiously, trying to remember where I had seen him before.

‘My name is James, you may remember me from last week, I’m the one who brought Mr Hiddleston to your apartment and then took you both to London last Sunday,’ he went on, ‘Mr Hiddleston had asked for me to wait here for you, and that when you arrived to take the train, I was to stop you and escort you to your destination myself.’

‘Oh, right,’ I said slightly confused, ‘he didn’t tell me anything about this.’
