Do I tell him? Tell him about what has happened here? That if someone wasn't hiking in these woods and saved me, I wouldn't be here talking to Josh right now? Do I tell him that this treehouse is the place where so many horrible things have happened?

No. We aren't that close yet.

But I'l tell him eventually, so why not get this over with? If I wait any longer, we might get closer and then he'll want to leave. I can't have that happening.

"Ty, what do you need to tell me?"

"I'm afraid Josh."

"Of what?"

"That when I tell you, you'll want to get away from me."

"Ty, whatever it is, I would never do such a thing."

"Well, when I was 17, my friends all left me because they didn't want to hang out with me anymore, and I had no one else. I told myself that no one wanted to be my friend, and I went into a bit of a downwards spiral. I came here one day just to think, and I found an old jumprope at the foot of the ladder. I-"

"Ty, you don't have to tell me something so personal. I know what you're about to say, and I want you to know that no matter what I will never leave. I promise."

"T-Thank you so so much Josh"

"For?"

"Being my friend"

Josh comes closer, and pulls me into an enormous hug. He rubs my back slowly with his hand, and I just break down.

//JOSH//

I step over to Tyler and pull him into a hug, he rests his head on my shoulder and starts crying.

"Shh Ty, It's ok"

"I'm Sor-"

"Stop. Don't be sorry. It's not your fault that those horrible people didn't want to be your friend. And Tyler, they definitely made the worst choice because people who don't have you as their friend don't know what they're missing. I know I haven't known you for long, but even you showing me around town and being nice to me meant the world. Whoever those horrible people are that hurt you don't know what they're missing."

"Thank you so much Josh. Now lets go into that treehouse."

"Are you sure?"

He nods his head yes, so I hold out my arm letting Tyler lock his arm with mine

--

We spend some time sitting on the wooden floor of the tree house, talking about our childhoods. We don't stay for too long, maybe a half an hour or so. We left once the clouds overhead turned dark grey.

As we were going down the treehouse's ladder, rain came out of no where and started pouring right on us. We laughed as we ran away from the treehouse, trying to cover our heads with our arms and failing miserably at staying dry.

We finally got into the car, making the seats of Tyler's car soaked in water.

I hooked my phone up to the bluetooth in Tyler's car to play some music. The songs on the radio are ok, but none of them have real instruments.

--

After a few minutes of driving through the rain and listening to music, we get to my house. Tyler parks in front of my driveway.

"Josh?"

"Yea Ty?"

"Thank you for coming with me today. It meant a lot to me. I was just going to bring you to the treehouse and show it to you because it's a nice place to go, and I wasn't planning on telling you so much about myself. I really appreciate you being my friend."

"Tyler,"

"Yea?"

"Come stay with me tonight, we can play Mario Kart and hang out. Bring pajamas."

"Deal."

I go back to my house and get some pajamas to bring to Josh's.

After about 10 minutes of trying to find cute pajamas, I walk across the street to Josh's house. Ringing the doorbell, I look around at his front door awkwardly, waiting for him to invite me into his house. I wait for a little bit, and he doesn't answer the door, so I ring the doorbell again. I feel my heart start to quicken. What could've happened to him int he short ten minutes that I was over at my house? Is he ok? Is he hurt?

I start to turn the handle, right when Josh opens the door. He's ok.

"What's wrong Ty? you look scared"

"You weren't answering the door and I thought something bad had happened to you. I panicked. I was just about to go into your house when you opened the door."

"Sh Ty I'm fine I was trying to fix dinner and I nearly burnt the freezer-pizza I had so I was scrambling around. I'm sorry for not opening the door sooner, but don't worry I'm ok. Come in!"

He opens the door and gestures for me to go inside. On his kitchen-counter I see a small pizza with black marks on the crust. So he did burn the pizza a little bit, but I don't mind.

"Would you care for some half-burnt pizza that I found in my freezer? I felt bad that I didn't have anything prepared so I rushed around to try and find some food to give you. Sorry that it isn't-"

"stop it looks good. Now lets go eat some wonderful freezer pizza and play Mario Kart." I say, with a very serious look on my face.

"Ok ok lets go."

--

We spend an hour fooling around and playing Mario Kart with our freezer pizza. After we're done with the Wii, Josh turns over to me.

//JOSH//

I turn over to Tyler. Should I tell him how I feel about him? I think I'm really starting to like him. Either that or I already do really like him. Well now I guess I'll see if he feels the same way about me.

"Hey Ty, I need to tell you something."

"Sure Josh, you can tell me anything."

"I don't know how to put this, but I need to know if the feeling I'm having is mutual."
