*Sunday, March 24*
"Hey Seong Min!" I said.
"You need food?" He asked.
"No-" he cut me off before I could finish.
"You need me to transfer some of the guys for you?" He asked.
"Let me finish! Jeez!" I yelled. "I was going to ask if you want to hang out today. We haven't hung out out in a while."
"Sure, let's hang out." He said.
"Okay, where are we hanging out?" I asked.
"You call me and ask if I want to hang out and yet you don't even have a plan?" He asked.
"Well, there was a chance you could have said no." I shrugged then realized he can't see me.
"When have I ever said no to you?" He asked.
"That one time when we were younger and I told you that I wanted ice cream, you said no." I point out a time.
"You told me to not let you eat any sweets or junk food. You were on a diet for some reason." He said.
"That's not the point, okay? The point is you said no."
"So it doesn't matter that I was doing the right thing and doing what you told me to do, by not letting you have sweets or junk food? He asked.
"You know what, moving on." I said. "Where are we hanging out?" I asked.
"I don't know.." he replied.
"The park? The movie theater? Museum? Something?" I list off the only things I can think of.
"I don't know." He said again.
"I got it! Laser tag!" I said excitedly.
"No." He said.
"What? Why?" I asked.
"You have more experience, plus the last time we played laser tag I swear I was going to lose a body part."
"Whatever...." I said and then realized he was right. We were with a group of people and we were on opposite teams, I kept on attacking him each and every round. "Fine, you pick something for us to do!"
"My mom's birthday is coming up, I have to get her a gift. Want to go to the mall?" He asked.
All of those ideas listed and he wants to go to the mall? I guess I could go to the mall...
"Okay, let's go to the mall."
"I'll come pick you up from your apartment." He said and hung up.
Okay, hang up on me... that's fine...
*Phone ringing*
"Hello?" I ask picking up the phone when I see that it's an unknown number.
"Baby girl, it's me." I heard the voice I haven't heard in a while.
"Mama! Did you change your number? I couldn't reach you, every time I called I would get the same message over and over again telling me that the number I have called has been disconnected and you didn't reply to any of my emails. I was getting so worried."
"Baby girl, listen to me. I had to disconnect my number because I got into some trouble when I tried to get you out of trouble. I've read all of you're emails and I'm very proud of you. I'm not suppose to contact you at all, but I had to. I think you might be in danger. Keep an eye out and be careful. Use the skills I taught you and make sure to cover your tracks. This is a burner phone so I have to get rid of it after this call. I have to go now, I'm proud of you." She said and hung up. I miss you.
I tried calling the number back but I got the message I've heard for what feels like a million times now. "We're sorry; you have reached a number that has been disconnected or is no longer in service. If you feel you have reached this recording in error, please check the number and try your call again."
I sighed. What kind of trouble are you in? Why were you trying to get me out of trouble?
*Ding dong* *Knock, knock, knock*
I go and open my door to be greeted with a smiling Seong Min.
"Hey!" I tried to sound like I didn't want to start crying.
"You ready to go?" He asked.
I grab my bag and put my sandals on. "Yeah." I replied.
"You okay?" He asked.
"Yeah, just a little stressed." I said not exactly lying but not telling the full truth.
We leave for the mall making small conversation throughout the ride.
"So what exactly are you looking for?" I asked him once we were in the mall.
"I don't know, what should I be getting her?" He asked.
"You don't know what to get your mom?" I asked.
"What would you get for your mom?" He asked.
I wouldn't get anything for my mom, I haven't communicated with her in years. But for mama, I would get her something she would like. A new book, a computer, a pair of shoes, clothes, my company, all the above.
"Well I would get a book, a computer, a pair of shoes, makeup, my company, one of them or all of the above."
"You're company?" He asked.
"Yeah, she loves my company."
"Wow, you two must be close." He said.
"No, I'm not close with my mother. But there's someone I know that's been like a mother to me for a very long time, I call her 'mama.'" I tell him.
"I've known you for years and years and yet this is the first time I'm hearing about this." He stated.
"There's a lot about me that you don't know yet." I replied.
"What about this?" He asked changing the topic and pointing at a shirt.
"I don't know what her style is, so I can't say." I shrugged.
We spend a hour just walking around looking for something for his mom. At the end he just bought flowers, chocolate, a card and balloons. I told him that the things he bought seemed like something you'll buy for a lover on Valentines Day. He glared at me and I just smiled at him.
