I woke up to the cold embrace of darkness.

What, I'm not being dramatic, I'm trying to do this narrator thing well... Er.. Somewhat well, okay?

The room was damp and cold, freezing my finger tips and the tip of my nose. I groaned as I moved my head around, my neck was sore and stiff, probably from the position I was sleeping in. I wiggled my arms and legs, only to find they were tied together, not leaving room for the slightest of movement.

I blinked twice to adjust my eyes to the dark room. It was practically pitch black, the only source of light being a thin sliver of light come from a semi-blacked out window in the right side corner of the room.

"Hayden?"

"Charlotte?" I called back, "I can't see you, where are you?"

"Here."

"Oh, there okay, cool, thanks I can totally see you in this pitch black abyss." I growled, rolling my eyes, despite the fact that she wouldn't see me.

"Are you rolling you eyes at me?"

Huh, and apparently she has night vision too.

"Where are we?" I asked, changing the subject. Struggling with my restraints, "What is going on?"

"I don't really know," Charlotte grunted, "But what I do know is that we're in some deep shit."

I scrunched my nose up at her, "Gee, thanks for those calm words of reassurance."

"Sorry," she mumbled softly. "Do you think you can wiggle out of your restraints?"

I paused for a minute, taking the time to wriggle my wrists around and feel the ropes that tied my hands behind me. The friction of my movement causing the ropes to painfully rub against my skin. In way too much pain to move my wrists anymore, I began feeling around with my fingers, searching for the knot.

"I can't," I huffed, "It's tied tight."

"Damn it," Charlotte growled.

"Can you try?"

A long pause before Charlotte sighed. "I can't either."

Well, shit.

I leaned back against the cool wall and sighed, still absent-mindedly fidgeting with the ropes behind me. "What even is this place? Who was that psycho lady in the cloak." I asked.

"I don't know," she sighed, "I had a job here, but apparently there were other forces working here."

"Like what?"

"Witchcraft, necromancy," she paused, "Whatever it is, it's the evil kind."

"There's a good kind of witchcraft?"

"Well, uh, kind of but, it doesn't matter," she sighed, "Normally the witchcraft I come across is some tiny charm like spell that people find off the Internet. But this..."

Pause for dramatic effect.

"-this is some advanced stuff, I mean it takes alot to summon hell hounds, normally only demons control those things."

Wait, hold the phone.

"Demons exist?!" I screeched.

"Well duh," Charlotte sounded exasperated, "Hayden, I would think you've seen enough to realise that alot of crap you didn't believe in exists, me for example."

"Well.. Yeah, but demons?"

She sighed loudly, probably to show me just how annoyed she was. "Yes Hayden, demons exist, angels exist and witchcraft and sorcery exist and right now, we're probably in the hands of someone very dangerous, that could possibly kill us."
