My eyes watered as I sniffed the plate of chicken wings.

How could something that looked so good be so evil?

I'm not talking about Charlotte.

No, she's just plain evil. Nothing good about her. Nada, nope.

She doesn't even look that great.

Don't tell her I said that.

Charlotte pushed Terrence's plate towards him and smiled, "I keep my promises. You first."

Terrence brought a wing to his mouth and tears filled his eyes. "Tell my girlfriend I love her," he said.

"Awh!" Joey and I cooed.

Charlotte slammed her hand on the table, "Now is not the time. Eat." she ordered Terrence, shooting glares at me and Joey at the same time.

"You're just jealous," I grumbled under my breath, folding my arms over my chest.

"What was that?"

"Nothing!" I said immediately.

Silence once again filled the room and all eyes turned to Terrence.

"FOR NARNIA AND FOR ASLAN!!" Terrence yelled bitting down into the wing. He chewed slowly for a few minutes before he took another bite. And another, and another.

"Hey," He began, "These actually aren't that bad-"

Oh, here it comes.

Terrence's eyes welled up and he choked. "I spoke too soon." he managed to squeak out before he raced off into the kitchen, screaming bloody murder.

Actually he screamed for water but you know, gotta tell a story here.

Charlotte snorted and turned back to Joey and I, "Your turn, babe," she smirked, shoving the plate towards him.

Joey gulped, having watched his best friend suffer instant trauma. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath before he bit down on a wing.

From the look on Joe's face, the spice immediately hit him. He whimpered as his eyes welled up and his nose started to leak. "I can't do it," he sniffed.

"You know the punishment," Charlotte said sternly. "One entire wing each, no excuses."

Joey looked at me and I gave him my best 'you can do this' face. He nodded and ate the wing in one bite. Tossing the bone onto an empty plate before he placed his head against the table and made muffled screams into the table cloth.

And then I noticed something.

"What the-" I whispered, grabbing Joey by the back of his shirt. "Oh my God."

Running down the back of his neck, in the exact same place as Charlotte was a tattoo. The exact same one Charlotte had.

The endless knot.

"What is-" I began.

Terrence interrupted me by walking back to the table with a pitcher full of iced lemonade, sipping it straight from the jug as he sat back down at table. "What's going o- Hey wait!"

I leaned over the table and pulled Terrence's head towards me, so I could see the back of his neck. Surprisingly enough, there was nothing.

That is until I rubbed off the way-too orange foundation.

And voila. There it was again.

No wonder I hadn't ever noticed it before. Terrence wore makeup to cover it up, Charlotte never tied her hair up and Joey always wore a jacket or something to cover it up.
