"Know what?"

Terrence's face shrunk, "Uh, nothing?"
I glared at him. "You're hiding something from me aren't you? You and Charlotte," I growled.

"No, no! Of course not!" He chuckled nervously, backing away from me as I took steps towards him.

"Look, Terrence," I paused, "sweetie, we can do this two ways, the easy way or the hard way, but I will get it out of you."

"I don't know what you're talking about," He said, folding his arms over his chest.

"Uh-huh, I see. Dad, get the shotgun!"

I heard a muffled thud and scrambling outside my bedroom door before I heard dad yell, "On it sweetie!"

Terrence gulped, "you wouldn't actually let your dad shoot me would you?"

I examined my nails, "I would actually, Dad's been itching to try out this new shotgun he bought last month, he has a strange obsession with antique rifles."

Terrence paled. "I'm your boyfriend."

I smiled, "I'll make sure he only shoots you a little bit."

Dad could be heard outside my door, yelling frantically as he raced around the house searching for his shotgun.

He seemed a little too excited about this.

"Alright, alright! I'll tell you, please call off your dad," Terrence said, running his hands through his hair in an exasperated fashion.

"Thank you, sweetie," I beamed, giving him a small peck on his lips just as Dad barged into the room.

"Get away from my daughter," Dad loaded his gun.

"Hayden!" Terrence yelled, hiding behind a curtain, "do something!"

"Dad, knock it off, I was just kidding," I laughed.

Dad frowned. "Bu-but, I really wanted to use my shotgun," he pouted.

Mom slipped into the room during the commotion and quietly pulled away the shotgun from dad's hands, "Let's go honey " mom said, as she dragged a out a whimpering Dad by the arm.

It was only then I realised how much my family needed to have their own TV show.

"Is he gone?" Terrence asked, still hiding behind the curtain.

"He's gone," I laughed, "You can come out now."

Terrence emerged from the curtain looking like a hurt puppy, "I can't believe you just tried to kill me," he said clutching his chest.

I laughed. "I can't believe you and Charlotte have a secret you haven't told me."

"Oh yeah," he sighed, "that."

I nodded. "I wanna know what's going on, Terrence. Why hasn't Charlotte been visiting me as often, why has she been cutting classes. And more importantly, what's with all the crazy outfits?"

Terrence chuckled, "you might wanna sit down for this one."

"What?!!"

"Shhh," Terrence urged, "I don't want your Dad coming in here again."

"You're kidding right?" I asked, "I mean, you do know what you're saying is crazy?"

"I know but-"

"Are you lying to me?"

Terrence sighed, "I'm not. I swear."
