On My Mind..

-A couple months later-
Snow covered the grass and roads. Leah and I have been dating for 4 months. I picked up Leah for school, as usually. Today is a special day.
"Hey," I say and kiss her when she gets in.
"Hello," she says with a smile on her face.
I hand her a box of chocolates, a card, and stuffed bear.
"Happy Valentines Day baby," I say.
She laughs and hugs me.
"Thank you!," she says.
She goes into her purse and hands me a card.
"Oh you got me a card?," I ask with a smile.
I didn't think she would get me something.
She nods.
"Of coarse! I love you!," she says.
"I love you too."
I start driving to school.
We walk in with conjoined hands.
You could see guys and girls hugging an kissing everywhere. I smile when I look at Leah.
We walk to class, first period we had together today. Both of us taking our seat in the middle by the wall. Class soon starts and we jot notes down.

I kiss Leah and she waves to me as she walks away with her friends. I wave back then get in my mom's car.
I pull out of the schools parking lot and start driving. I'm driving past a playground when suddenly a kid runs onto the road to get his ball. I steer away from him just in time but the car slides on the ice and flips. Everything in time seemed to stop. I feel a sharp pain go through my stomach. The car rolls a few times before hitting the telephone pole.
Black dots blurred my vision as people ran towards the vehicle.
My vision goes black as I hear an ambulance siren not to far away.

Leah came as fast as she could when she heard about the accident. Tears fell down her face and she sees Ashton's mom. Jay gets up and hugs her.
"He'll be alright..," Jay says.
I start crying more as a doctor comes over.
"Ashton.. he suffered a major injury," the doctor starts.
"Let's just with the good news then I'll tell you the bad," he says.
Jay and I both nod. Tears streamed down our faces.
"He will survive the major injury.. when the car flipped a couple times.. a metal piece went through his side.. he also has two broken ribs and needs a lot of stitches.," jay and I gasp.
"A-a metal piece?.. went through his side?..," Leah starts crying again.
"Yes.. but he will survive that," the doctor says.
"How is it good news that he got a metal piece through his side??!"
"Leah.. the good news is that he's going to survive it..," Jay says.
Leah nods.
"I-I can't lose him.. I love him," Leah says.
It was silent for a few seconds before the doctor speaks again.
"Now the bad news.. Ashton's in a coma and we don't know if he'll wake up."
