On My Mind..

We walked along the beach. I sighed and looked at her. I love you.
"I'm actually kind of scared Ashton," Leah says.
She kept her stare at the ocean once we sat down on the ground.
"Why?," I asked.
She's silent.
"Tyler.. what if he hurts you?," she says worriedly.
She finally turns to me. Actually fear shown on her face.
"Everything will be okay.. on Monday we are going to walk into school and own the world," I held her face with my hands and looked at her.
"Okay?," I ask.
She nods.
"Good," I nod, "now.. time to get to a question that I've been waiting to ask you for awhile."
"Leah.. you are beautiful in every way, I think about you all the time and always will so I was wondering.. will you be my girlfriend?"
She was silent.
I'm so stupid.. she just broke up with Tyler.. she won't go for me.
She suddenly smiles.
"Yes," she pulls me close to her and kisses me.
I smile and kiss her back. When I pull back, I lean my forehead on hers.
"I love you," I whisper.
"I love you too."
"Oh and I'm going to go get my license tomorrow so you don't have to drive me everywhere," we both laugh.

It was after midnight after Leah drove me back home. It was because we put a blanket down and stared at the stars when nightfall came.
I walked in and noticed my mom asleep on the couch. I smile and put a blanket over her.
I hurried off to bed so I could get up early to take my drivers test.

I walked down the stairs the next morning to see my mom making breakfast.
"Hey mom," I say and sit down at the table as she placed pancakes in front of me.
"Good morning Ashton," she smiled.
"Good to see you up and out of that room."
I nod.
"Hey mom? Can you drive me so I can get my drivers license? I've been studying for it and I think it's time.. so I'm not stuck with this learners license for the rest of my life," I say.
My mom agrees and we both eat. After we get ready to go out, we walk out to my moms car. She pulls out of the driveway and I nervously tap my fingers on my leg.
When we finally get there. I take a deep breath and walk into the building. I got this.
