3 years.

I felt someone's breath on my face and opened my eyes. Michonne was leaning over me.
"Hello." I yawn.
"What were you doing with Carl last night?" She questions, a smirk on her face.
"Talking, and sleeping." I reply, casually.
"Really? Well, it's been a while since I saw Carl smile like that."
"MmHmm..."
"What were you to talking about?"
"Well, I fell off the couch and on top of him." Michonne smirked and I blushed. "And then we both couldn't fall asleep and he was complaining, and then he said that I had a pretty smile and without thinking I said he had nice eyes." Michonne chuckled.
"He totally likes you!" She laughed. "You like him back, don't you?"
I didn't reply and she laughed even more. I never thought I would be talking about boys during the apocalypse. I decided to change the subject.
"So, is everyone awake?"
"Rick is still sleeping, but you can't blame him, considering the shape he's in."
I nodded and got up. I walked to the kitchen to see if anything was there to eat. All I found was a granola bar and Carl who decided to ignore me. Now that I think about it, it's kinda obvious he likes me. Who wouldn't compliment a person and then ignore them? Anyone other than Carl, apparently. I nibbled on my granola bar and started a conversation.
"What's the plan for today?"
"We get ready and leave."
"I really wish we could just stay here for a while."
"Can't afford to loose time."
"Loose time? We have all the time in the world! Of course, unless we get bit."
He sighed. He seemed to be lost in thought. I continued nibbling my granola bar.
"Do you like me?" He spoke up. I avoided looking at him and blushed.
"What if I did?"
"Well, I dunno." He blushed too.
"Gee, and I thought I was socially awkward." He blushed even harder.
"You didn't answer my question."
"Yes, I guess I like you."
"You guess?"
"Carl, are you expecting me to declare my love for you in a ballot or something? Really?" He laughed.
"Well, I guess I like you too."
We just sat together in silence for a while. Then Michonne walked in the kitchen with Rick. When she saw us she smirked.
Rick finished his breakfast and we began to pack again.
We were on the road again after 20 minutes. I tried to keep my balance on the rail road, my bag kept me slightly off balance by I was doing pretty good, considering how clumsy I am. The sun was starting to set so we decided to make camp. We had a few tents but I had different plans in mind.
"How about we sleep in the trees? Walkers can't climb, that's why we call 'em walkers."
"Clever girl." Michonne commented.
"See that tree over there. We can place some boards from the rail roads in that gap and make something like a platform to sleep on." I pointed at a tree that looked easy to climb.
We got straight to work. A few walkers payed us a visit but we took care if them swiftly and easily. We held up the platform with a strong rope we found by the rail road. It was big enough to hold me and Carl but not Rick and Michonne. Rick couldn't even climb the tree due to his injury. They decided to stay in a tent. Me and Carl slept up in the trees in two sleeping bags.
Sleeping didn't come and I just lied in my bag, staring at the starry sky. Clearly Carl was also having trouble sleeping.
"So, you said that you like me." I rolled my eye at Carl's comment.
"I suppose." He smirked at my reply.
"Well, I like you too."
"What do you mean by 'like'?"
"Well, you're... umm... pretty and you're funny and... you're clever and-" I didn't let him continue and just took his hand in mine and cuddled up next to him. His cheeks looked red in the bright moonlight.
I don't know why but I liked him. Maybe it was because he's actually is a nice and cute. guy or maybe I'm just seeking comfort from him. Maybe it's a combination. I fell asleep with my head on his chest and woke up with Michonne whistling at us from below. Nice.
