3 years.

"You two, get down here right now! We have to move, fast!" Michonne sounded a bit panicked.
I grabbed my sleeping bag and started climbing down the tree. When I was on the ground again I found out why we had to move. Walkers. A huge mob of walkers were jogging along the railroad.
"Shit! Why can't we just stay in the trees?!"
"Rick can't climb! Now lets go!"
We grabbed our bags and started running as fast as our legs could carry us. I dared to look back and my eyes widened in horror. The walkers were getting closer. We decided to go in the forest. We ran and stumbled across broken branches and leaves. I was getting tired but I knew we couldn't stop. We ran into a few walkers but Michonne just sliced there heads off.
"Rick," I panted. "do you think you can climb a tree, you know, if you can run for so long I think you should be able to climb."
"Yes, but a bit slowly."
We stopped by the nearest tree and started climbing. I went first, then Carl, then Rick, then Michonne. I climbed up the branches until they became to brittle to hold me up.
Everyone sat on branches high up in the tree. I looked down and saw the walkers limp right past us. They probably couldn't smell is from up here. Michonne looked panicked.
"Michonne, what's wrong?"
"I'm afraid of heights."
"That's why you didn't want to climb up the tree, isn't it?" I smirked.
"Maybe..." She glared at me.
When the last walker wandered past I started descending the tree. Everyone else followed. There was one problem. We were lost. The railroad was far out of sight.
"Crap. Where are we?" Murmured Carl.
"In a forest." I stated sarcastically.
"No shit."
"Well the walkers came from this way so that must've been where we came from." Said Rick.
We started heading towards the direction we came from. My stomach was rumbling so we all shared another can of vegetable soup. An hour later we got to our original spot. A small group of walkers were stumbling past. Michonne sliced up most of them and just as she was about to decapitate the last one, an arrow soared through the air and hit it.
"Daryl." Michonne murmured. "Daryl?" She said loudly this time.
"That's me." A deep voice grumbled.
A man in a leather vest and a blond girl emerged from the woods. I stared at them, confused. I assumed that they were from their old group. Rick shook Daryl's and the girls hands.
"Sadie, this is Beth," the girl waved, "and this is Daryl." Daryl gave me a strange look.
"Where'd the kid come from?" He questioned roughly.
"Carl found her."
"She a good shot?"
"I'm good with a knife." I spun my favorite Italian knife in my hand and threw it right in between his feet with one swift movement.
He murmured something and glared at me, throwing the sharp knife back. I caught it and kept spinning it in my hand.
"Do you have a camp?" Beth squeaked.
"We're just traveling along the railroad." Michonne replied.
We all decided to just go and settle down for the night. Carl and I slept in the same platform as before and everyone else slept in tents below. It wasn't as peaceful tonight as yesterday. Daryl's snores could be heard from a mile away, disrupting any peace whatsoever.
