Chapter 30: As long as you love me, I'll be here because I love you

Damon's POV
It has been months since I've come back and Skyler has nightmares. She hasn't told me, but Caroline did. I haven't had time to talked to her because the stupid Heretics are always around. But now that they have left, but Valerie because the rest died or whatever, they aren't around anymore. I woke up to Skyler crying. I couldn't find her anywhere, but could hear her. I followed her crying and saw her in the cellar with two empty bourbon bottles. She looked at me and set down her third bottle. "Sky.." I say looking at her. "What happened?" I whispered. She looked away. " I have these nightmares that are about you... You so far away from me and not being able to see or touch you. I was falling apart and you weren't here. I was so lonely and everyone was telling me ' if he doesn't come back then move on ' but all I was thinking was I can't move on he is my mate. I was so scared I wasn't going to see you again" she said. She started sobbing and breathing heavy. I grabbed ahold of her. "I'm here now. I'm not going anywhere I love you" I say holding her while she is sobbing "please don't leave me again,  I love you too" she hiccuped. Little while later I pick her up and bring her it my room and cuddle her.

Skyler's POV
Me and Damon have been together for almost 6 months now well we have known each other for a year. It has was one months from Elena, two more months from the Phoenix stone, and three months since the heretics leaving. So we have been together for 6 months, wow. But the other 6 months where from spending time with Klaus which was 2 months, going to New York which was 3 months, and going home which was 1 months. Everything is going by so fast. Anyways, me and Damon are going to the beach for our 6 month anniversary. We have packed our bags and we are on our way to the beach. I forgot what it's called, but Damon has a beach house so we will be alone, but everyone will come for the last two days. I said good bye to everyone and we drove to the beach. It took three hours and boy was Damon and I singing our hearts out to songs on the radio, one song came in and I sang it all.

Damon and I decided to have dinner while being here so for our anniversary he took me to dinner. We finished the night by walking along the beach. He stopped. "Baby what's wrong " I asked curious "nothing it's just. I'm trying to ask you something but I'm afraid" he said holding my hand. "Just so you don't need to be afraid. I love you" I say looking into his ocean blue eyes. "Ok" he says getting in one knee. I gasp as he pulls out a ring. "I wanted to do this on a special night, but this will do. Skyler Rose Cullen. I know your last name is a bunch of things like Mikaelson, or Cullen, or Salvatore. But I want you to be my wife with my last name to let people know that I'm in love with you, my Skyler. I fell in love with you and every time I look into your beautiful emerald green eyes I remember why I fell in love with you, I fell in love with your personality, your eyes, I fell in love with all of you, and with that said I want to be your first and last love, I want to be yours and I want to make you feel wanted and be mine. Skyler, will you do me the honor of marrying me" Damon asked. I was shocked I couldn't speak. Tears were just pouring. I finally gave an answer, "yes " Damon jumped up and grabbed my waist and spun me around. He put the ring in and it was gorgeous.
The ring was a flower with an emerald in the middle. He looked at me and I looked at him. "I love you and I'm happy you said yes I was scared you'd say now and leave me" Damon says holding my waist. "As love as you love me I'll be here becauseI love you." I say pulling him for a kiss. We let go of each other walk along the beach.
