Then the entire crowd chanted and applauded. They stepped up, Derrick gave Lucy a polite smile and she just kind of looked at him weirdly. After they were crowned they were asked to stay put. After a long moment, the girl was back on stage with the microphone and a pillow holding roses in her other arm. "I'm sorry it looks like there was a mix up at the flower shop, however, the roses will be black instead of red. Lucy looked at her like she didn't have a care in the world. "Is that okay Lucy?" she asked.
"Uh yeah, sure."
Sam then snatched the microphone out of her hand and the roses off the pillow.
"Well Lucy, I can't begin to describe how proud I am of you. I must do the honors for my friend," said Sam.
"What the hell are you doing Sam?" Lucy asked in a whisper but since Sam is still holding the microphone, everyone heard.
"Oh don't be such a snobby winner, I'm just happy for you girl. Congratulations."
She then placed the black roses in Lucy's arms.
"I must say, I would've much rather been placing these on your grave," Sam said to Lucy with a laugh.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?"
"No, I believe the question is, what the fuck is wrong with you Lucy? I'm not the one walking around leaving suicidal notes and trying to drown myself, dear."
That's all Lucy could take, she pushed Sam completely off the stage. It all happened so quickly. Before I could run up there and check on Lucy and before anyone could check on Sam, I saw her push a button on the inside of her dress unleashing what must have been a least a gallon of black liquid onto the stage. I instantly looked up and saw a large silver bucket tied to a rope and it was directly above where Lucy was standing. Lucy is now soaked in with whatever this liquid is and the rest of the people on the stage were only slightly splattered. I just realized that Sam didn't do this alone. Someone must have been controlling these ropes, making sure it was exactly where Lucy was standing at the moment. I rushed on the stage and within a matter of seconds, I am next to Lucy trying to help her see. Now that we've made contact with it, I realize that it is black slime. I didn't even know slime could be black.
"Lucy let's just get out of here," I grabbed her hand but she pushed me away and ran outside. I found the closest table and wiped my hands off, then I spotted Sam. I raced towards her, grabbed that bitch by her hair, dragged her to the floor, and beat the everlasting shit out of her. I blacked out, I saw nothing but blood and tears once I was finally pulled off her. After that I ran after Lucy, I barely notice her sitting on the ground holding her knees and crying. Without caring about the slime I grabbed her and started hugging her. When she pulled away she looked at me.
"Oh my goodness, what happened to your face and your hair?" Lucy asked dramatically. I pulled the small mirror from my purse that I didn't realize I was still wearing. My face is kind of red and my hair is completely screwed.
"It's okay, and it's nothing compared to Sam."
"Did you fight her?"
"Yeah."
"Why and like how?"
"I just kind of blacked out. I didn't even realize she was fighting back, to be honest. Let's go home and get cleaned up. Maybe we can still try to have a good night."
When we got to my house the first thing I did was grab some wet wipes and clean off my leather seats and my wheel. After we showered, we just sat on my bed thinking about everything that just happened.
"How and the hell did she know about my suicide attempt?" Lucy wondered out loud.
"She could be spying on us, just plotting her revenge," I replied.
"I guess, but that still doesn't explain why she would want revenge in the first place, I mean how'd she know what I did to her last semester? After all, she was asleep, she probably would've thought it was just a nightmare."
"I think she's been doing research. Her eyes probably weren't all the way closed when you took her though that sleep paralysis." There was a knock on the door. Lucy and I dashed downstairs but my mom beat us to the door. When she opened it Lucy and I couldn't believe our eyes. It was Amber, Lucy's haunted dream creation, here in reality live, and in physical form.
"Well hello there," said my mother. "What can I do for you, sweetie?"
"Hi, I'm Amber and I just came from the prom. I just wanted to know why Lucy and Primrose over there left in such a hurry. I had just got there and it looks like they were just getting started." Amber said with an innocent and confused look on her face,
My mom looked back at us as Lucy and I looked at each other.
"How are we going to fix this?" I whispered to Lucy.
"I don't know yet, but fast." she replied with her eyes still locked on Amber.
