"I tell you! They leave me out and say 'I'm too young blah blAH BLAH!' " Peggy stops her foot in anger. You look at her. "At least you have me, right?" You grab your lunch out of your locker and swing the door shut. The hall of Founding Father High School was flooded with hungry 10th graders. "Yeah, I do!" She swings her arm around your shoulder and laughs. You blush and clutch your lunch bag.
Peggy sets her lunch bag down on the table aggressively. "What's wrong?" Eliza looks up from talking with Angelica.
"You." Peggy mutters.
"What?"
"My lunch. My lunch is wrong," Peggy scoffs while gesturing to her lunch, "You heard me the first time!"Peggy sat back in her chair, crossing her arms.
"Well excuse me. I'm sorry you're too young to go to Paris with us. It's mom's fault. Blame her." Eliza took a bite out of her sandwich daintily, yet still salty. Peggy slams her fists on the table.
"IT IS NOT MOM'S FAULT." The cafeteria turned to look at her. "I HATE YOU BOTH." She grabs her lunch bag, scoots out of her chair, and runs away. You look at Angelica and Eliza.
"You shouldn't treat her that way. She has every right to go, same as you. If you're trying to be a protective older sister, it's not working very well. In your favor and her's." You turn around and run after Peggy.
You immediately knew where to go. The empty music room, or more commonly known as (to you), Peggy's hiding space. You heard her fuming, taking unsteady breaths. "Do you want to talk about it?" You say, for the millionth time this year. She nods, frowning. She gains control f her breath, as she spills out her bucket of feelings. You hug her. She rubs her face with both of her hands and says;
"Why are you my friend?"
"You're funny, kind, caring, pretty.."
She laughs and says "Really? I'm pretty? I thought that was Angelica's job." You shake your head, smiling.
"I'm glad you're my friend. I probably would be ripping my sisters' lungs out right now if it weren't for you." She looks at you and kisses you on the cheek. "I should really work on a new hiding spot." She looks around the old music room. You touch your cheek, appalled. She slides into the piano bench and begins playing a song from the Broadway hit, Notlimah. It was called "Say Yes To This." Her favorite song. You pick up a dusty violin and attempt to play. It didn't work out very well. After Peggy finishes, you say
"If I wasn't your friend, I would be lonely and in need of a pretty person to look at." It took you the whole song to come up with that. Not very slick. You may need to work on that, for future reference. She laughs, just sitting on the piano bench. You blush and say "sorry.." you set down the violin and take your leave.
"There was nothing wrong with that. Just confused on why you tell me that now. Did you think of it during the song?" Told you it wasn't slick. You nodded, leaving quickly. You heard her laugh yet again. You're glad you did, because it's like a fairy's wings.
ok, sorry if that was weird. I don't know. I feel like it was bad. it was lacking a sense of ground, or theme. please tell me if you want me to redo it.
