Scarlett walked to school alone. She liked being alone, away from the chaos. Scarlett entered the courtyard. Girls giggled and pointed at her. A lot of girls blushed as Scarlett passed them. Scarlett kept walking, her stride not faltering.

"Hi Scarlett..." A girl giggled, waving at Scarlett. Scarlett waved back, but didn't stop to talk. She hurried into Dean High School.

Scarlett opened her locker and found piles of love notes. She sighed and shoved them all in her backpack, grabbed her books, then closed her locker. A girl, Harper Turner, had been standing right behind the door.

"Hi Harper." Scarlett said coolly. Harper was her best friend and she knew her secret. Harper shook her head and put her hand out. Scarlett sighed and handed Harper the backpack.

"I'm not letting you live like this Scar...What is this a candy wrapper?!" Harper said. She dumped Scar's backpack out and started organizing things.

"Anything I own is pretty much trash so why can't I live like this?" Scar got down on the ground and tried to help out Harper.

"Don't touch! You'll mess it up!" Harper cried pushing Scar back. Scar smirked and stood to lean against the lockers.

"How are you anyways?" Scar asked not wanting to stand in silence.

"No one has asked me out to the dance yet. Seems like a lot of girls want to go with you..." Harper said looking at the pile of love notes. Scar sighed and Harper laughed.

"Don't worry! There may be a boy for you somewhere!" Harper said.

"Shut up! If someone hears I'll be killed! Literally!" Scar said grabbing the love notes and throwing them in the trash. Harper started putting everything neatly back into Scar's backpack.

"Sorry, but you know it's true. You can't be the only straight one here." Harper whispered. She stood up and handed Scar her backpack. "Now lets go to class before we are late."
