Andrew felt his brothers shove him and push him through the halls. Looking down, he knew they wanted to embarrass him.
"Hey Drew! You'll never get a guy looking like that!" His oldest brother, Conner, said. Drew turned and punched Conner in the stomach. Conner doubled over and started crying. Drew may have been the baby of the group, but he was not going to just let them talk trash about him.
The rest of his older brothers surrounded him. Drew knew this was not a good start to the day. He looked at each of his brothers in turn. Being the youngest of ten was not as great as some people said. Their parents were worn-out and getting old. Why has they wanted so many kids and why all boys?
"You're going to pay for that Drew..." Conner said standing up. Tears were rolling down his face. "Come on guys...Lets go..." Conner walked away. Everyone was shocked. They had been thinking Conner would start a fight.
Drew ran away from the group. He knew he was in big trouble now. Drew rounded a corner and ran right into two girls. He and one girl bumped heads and both of them ended up on the ground. Drew looked up and saw a girl with blue hair standing over him. He knew that it was Harper because of the nose ring, but he'd didn't recognize the other girl, who was rubbing her head.
"I'm so sorry!" Drew said. He felt heat rise on his face. Harper just started laughing.
"Good morning Drew! How are you?" She said giving him a huge hug. Drew tried to get to the other girl, but she had already stood up. Drew couldn't breath, Harper was squeezing so hard.
"Harp...Er..." Drew managed to say. The other girl put a hand on Harper's shoulder and Harper released. Drew sighed with relief.
"Are you ok?" Drew asked standing up and brushing himself off.
"I'm fine. Looks like something frightened you. You were running pretty fast." The other girl said smiling. Drew's heart skipped a beat.
Harper was smiling too. "Drew, this is Scarlett. Scar this is Andrew." She said slyly. Scarlett turned on Harper and whispered something in her ear. Harper was still smiling.
Drew scratched the back of his neck feeling very awkward. "It's...um...Nice to meet you Scarlett...." Drew said putting his hand out. Scarlett shook it with surprising strength.
"It's nice to meet you too, Drew." Scarlett said. Harper giggled. Scarlett punched her.
"Um...What's so funny, Harper?" Drew asked. They both looked at each other and Scarlett rolled her eyes, starting to walk away.
"I forgot how clueless boys can be..." Harper said shaking her head. "You're single right, Drew?" Harper had an evil glimmer in her eye.
"Yes, you know that. I'll probably be single for the rest of my life."
"Not for long..." Harper whispered and walked away. Drew hadn't caught that until Harper was around the corner.
"Wait what!?" Drew ran after her.
