Who Brought Them Together

~Chapter 1~

Zane's POV

I look around. I am in the neighborhood, surrounded by the houses and trees. So much...green. The cool night air blows against me, making my hair go frantic. I see in the corner of my eye Aphmau, Katelyn,and....Kawaii Chan's house. I got an invite to a party from Aphmau earlier today. I check my watch. 11:57. If I go , I'd make it in time before midnight.

But at the same time; The meifwa. Not that I have a problem with her or anything. It's just that....I don't want to have feelings right now and...I do. That feeling in your heart, that you just can't control.

I shake my head slightly, trying to forget about that thought....but it still stays in the back of my mind, like its taunting me or something. I sigh a bit as I make a decision, then walk up to the yard. I knock on the red door three times. In about 2 seconds, I get an answer. 

The door opens. I see Kawaii~Chan standing at the doorway, smiling at me.

"Hi Zane~Kun!" She exclaims.

"Hey Kawaii~Chan..." I mutter, glad that my mask hides the blush that I'm sure is on my cheeks.

She grabs my hand, unexpectedly. She holds it tight, making the feeling in my heart grow intensely. She pulls me through the house, and I shuffle along after her. She pulls us into the living room, where everyone else is.
Decorations and balloons fill the room, as everyone else stands scattered around the room. Music faintly plays from the TV.

She pulls us towards the black couch, then sits down, pulling me with her. I crash into the couch, and the feeling intensifies yet again. I slowly turn my head to look at Kawaii~Chan.

She looks right back at me, smiling.

"Happy New Years Zane~Kun!" She giggles.

New Years. That's what it was. I knew I was forgetting something, and it was tearing a hole in my brain. I feel a relief of finally remembering. No wonder I was invited to a party.

"O-oh...um, thanks Kawaii~Chan.." I reply, trying to sound like my grouchy old self, though a nice tone peeks through.

"New Years is in 1 minute, guys!" Someone shouts, maybe Travis. Me and Kawaii~Chan stare at each other.

I have a sudden urge, most likely from that weird feeling. I glance down at the meifwa's lips, then back to her Amber eyes. I look over to Aph, as if she could tell me what to do.

As soon as me and Aph make eye contact, she gives me that look. Her eyebrows raise a little, and she giggles silently. "She really likes you." She whispers, though I can't hear over the music. But doesn't she like everyone? She even likes Michi, who apparently stole her boy-toy.

But...I know what Aphmau means. The feeling. Kawaii~Chan must have it too, but how... How could she feel like that about....me...

Suddenly, everyone starts chanting the numbers, starting at 10, really loudly. I look back at the meifwa, to find she was already looking. Her eyes shimmer in the moonlight that shines through the open window.

Every time the number gets closer to zero, my stomach grows tighter. I find myself frozen. But that immediately changes once the clock hits one.

As soon as everyone says one, my frozen state completely fades. I quickly cup Kawaii~Chan's face in my hand, and press my lips against hers.

As I pull away, I keep my eye contact with Kawaii~Chan, not looking at the others that I can feel staring. Her face is a faint red, but she still smiles a bright smile. I quickly place my lips on her cheek, then stand up. I rush out the door, not saying a word, and leave.

And by leave...I don't mean leave the room. I left the whole party. But when I got home that night....I ended up texting the meifwa for an hour.
