Who Brought Them Together

~Chapter 3~

Me, Nana, and Aph sit in the living room, Aph on a separate couch than me and Nana. Me and her sit close together, our shoulders almost touching. Aph stares at both of us.

"So....are you two...like...a thing?" She asks curiously.

Nana and I both blush in sync. I open my mouth to say something, but no words come out.

"...I'm waiting.." Aph says quietly in reply to the silence, now smirking a bit.

I look at Nana, and she looks right back at me. She looks almost...scared. But I don't guarantee that she is. I'm horrible at reading people.

After another moment of silence, I say something I shouldn't have, without even looking away from her eyes.

"Y-yea....Kawaii~Chan is my...G-girlfriend...."

"I didn't know I was your girl friend...." Nana states as she sits on her bed. I sit next to her, our shoulders touching again.
   
"S-sorry...." I start.
      
I really like her. No doubt of that in my mind. I guess....when Aph asked...I just...
      
My thoughts get interrupted by the meifwas  soft voice.
      
"No! It's fine. I'd...love to be your girlfriend..." She turns and looks at me, smiling bright. I look at her, our faces very close together.

Next thing I know, I'm laying next to her at the midnight hour. She had fallen asleep awhile ago, and it would have been rude to leave without saying goodbye. So mine as well stay. I brush her hair out of her eyes, admiring her.
       
You don't deserve her. Look at her. She's an angel. She's perfect. She deserves someone better than you. I sigh....by thoughts always seem to ruin the rare good moments of my life.
 
But....She is...she's...perfect. And I'm...not. I'm a mess. I'd ruin her. I shut my eyes softly, taking a deep breath. I lean my head on hers, before slowly, then all at once, falling asleep with the meifwa in my arms.
