        Zane's POV:

And just like I love Nana, I love that little girl. But some people....some people seem not to.I stand and look over at two girls; both pretty tall; one of them is brunette. They both are glancing over at us, more specifically Rose; in disgust. I look back down at Rose, who looks at the two girls with fear. The girls start walking over; now looking at Nana.

They make their way to us; now standing right in front of Nana, almost surrounding her. Nana looks up at them and fear strikes her face.

"Well, lookie who came to join us." The brunette one snickers as she speaks. The other girl with pink hair like the others, snickers and stands right at the brunette's side.

"R-Riley..." Nana whispers as her eyes widen.

"No dip, Sherlock. Of course it's me." She rolls her eyes. Riley. So her name.

"Me and Sabrina were just trying to greet our dear sister." Riley says as she laughs at her own pathetic joke.

Fury and rage fill my spirits, as I almost let my feelings get the best of me. But before I can even take action, Rose storms over and stands in front of Nana protectively.

"LEAVE NANA ALONE!!" She yells as loud as she can in her cute, squeaky voice. Riley and Sabrina both look down at Rose and blink a few times, before rolling their eyes in sync.

Before I can blink, Riley shoves the little girl onto the concrete-sidewalk, and Rose hits her head....hard. But to my surprise; she doesn't cry, though I can tell she is about to as a tear streams down her face.

Rose's POV:

As my head slams into the concrete, a rushing pain sends through my entire body. My head pounds like it never has before. But I hold back the tears....Daddy always called me a crybaby.....I don't want to be a crybaby....

I squeeze my eyes shut and tears find a way to slip down my face. When my eyes are shut, I feel someone pick me up and hold them close to me.I don't know who is holding me, but I feel comfortable...whoever it is.

I bury my head into the sweatshirt of this person; and the scent of cherry mints overwhelms my nose.I feel a tear that isn't my own fall onto my forehead and slip down my face. Out of curiosity, I open my eyes and look up to see who is holding me.

It's Zane. I see him look at me with his bright blue eye, glazed with tears.

"R-Rosie....are you alright..." He asks, stuttering a bit because of the tears.

"Y-yea....I'm used to it...." I reply sadly. I find it really saddening when bad things happen to someone so much, that they can say that they are used to it. But it's true....

Zane hugs me tightly in his arms; still carrying me. I wrap my arms around his neck, and rest my head on his shoulder as he starts walking towards the building, using his free hand to hold Nana's.
