"Oh geez R...Rick. Man, w...we really screwed up big time, d...didn't we?" Morty asks me and I sigh. "No MOrty. This was all part of the plan. Y...Y....You really need to have more f...faith in me Morty." I say and he apologises. "H...Hang on. Shut up Morty." I hiss as a quiet melody rang through the colourful valley we walked across on the Aotera planet. When we landed, my ship broke down and we were looking to see if there was something to help me fix it. "W...What's that sound Rick?" Morty whispers and I narrow my eyes as I crouched in some tall grass, peering through. "Y...Your guess is as good as mine M...MORty." I say before Morty shakes me, almost enough to make me loose my balance. "Jesus Morty! You could just tap me, you....you know that right?" I says before Morty points towards the North. I crawl forward a bit before peering through the grass again. My eyes land on a whole community gathered down at a lilac lake. "So that's where it's coming from..." I mumble before listening to what they were singing.
As I went down in the river to pray
Studying about that good ol' way
And who shall wear the starry crown?
Good Lord show me the way."Oh great. It just had to be a crazy religious group didn't it?" I growl before Morty gasps. "Keep quiet! You'll give away our-" I freeze as a figure stood there. "Do you two wish to join us in prayer?" The figure says, and by the voice I could definitively guess it was a man. "Uh, no than-" "O...Of course we would." Morty cuts in and the man smiles. "Wonderful. Follow me if you will." He says before turning and walking a few steps. "What the shit Morty? You know that I can't tolerate this kind of religious bullshit!" I whisper-yell at him. "Rick, we...we...we don't know what they're gonna do if we say no. P...Plus, you could use some r...religion." He says before standing up. I sigh and follow him and the man down to the river.
O sisters let's go down
Let's go down, come on down
O sisters let's go down
Down in the river to pray"Excellency." The man says to another figure who had their back turned to us. The shape of their body gave away it was most likely a woman. They turned around and, for the first time since I met Beth's mother, I was speechless. She was beautiful, stunning even. Her features were sharp, but soft. Distinct, but blended in. Alien to me, but also felt like home. And her eyes, don't get me started. They were larger than the normal human eye and slanted up near the end, taking on almost an almond shape. They were the most amazing and vivid shade of (eye colour) that contrasted against her pastel purple/blue, almost white, skin. Her appearance and features, such as gills and webbed fingers, made me realise that this was probably both an aquatic and land-dwelling species. "Who are these two?" She asks, her voice replaying in my mind, like a stupid, catchy song that you just can't get out of your head. "I found them hiding within some grass on my way here. They wish to join us in prayer." The man says.
