Warriors: Second Strike: Banished to the Dark

Chapter 10

[Venomtooth's POV]

I had been talking to Blossomsoul most of the way home from the meeting and she said she had something important to tell me. I titled my head slightly confused on what it could possibly be. I followed her to the training area where I used to beat her when we were apprentices and flicked my ear curiously.

"Blossomsoul, will you just tell me already? I want to sleep some. It's been a long night with everyone." I snapped slightly before loosening up at the shecat I loved.

"It was something I was talking to Snowingblaze and she's really proud of us. I'm sure you would want to stay up after this." The shecat said not completely saying what it was that she had to tell me. I rolled my eyes and tried again.

"I don't understand what you are saying. Can you explain it?" I asked her with a small purr as I nuzzled her cheek.

"I'm expecting your kits you mouse brain. You are going to be a father in a few moons!" She said with a purr as she licked my cheek.

It took me a moment to process that. I was going to be a father. My wonderful mate was going to have kits. I actually wasn't going to die a kitless tom. My eyes widened and I pinned my mate down covering her in happy licks.

"We are going to be the best parents ever! I'm sure of it. Have you told Silverstar? Are you going to the nursery? How much longer until they are due? What if something happens to you? I'm going to protect you with my life from now on!" I proclaimed starting to over worry about my mate and I could easily see it in her face that she didn't like it but I didn't care.

"They are going to get squished if you keep me pinned down any longer. I will tell Silverstar in the morning and go to the nursery too. Doveflame said around two moons and they will be due. Nothing is going to happen to me except you being overprotective." She teased me licking my ear. I got off of her carefully not wanting to hurt the kits.

"Do you know how many we are going to have?" I asked her quietly just now finally realizing that there was kits coming. It was good since no one in MapleClan was having kits at the moment.

"I don't know yet, but she told me we will learn how many soon. I'm nervous. Like, extremely nervous. I'm scared something will happen to us and we won't be able to be parents to our kits." She whispered to me but I curled my tail around her.

"Nothing is going to happen to us on my watch. I'll keep us alive and make sure those kits have their mother and their father to watch after them or I'll go the Dark Forest." I purred to her proudly before we both headed back to the camp.

Shorter chapter because it's a spacer. Those that joined my clan on Instagram know some of what will happen with them. But now back to the action!
