Warriors: Second Strike: Banished to the Dark

Chapter 19

[Sparklight's POV]

I wondered out to get some more herbs that we were out of. I didn't want to send Creamspots with Tinyclaw's location unknown and her threat still lingering. I headed toward a small stream that cut through our territory and sniffed around for some catmint. I scented something strange. It wasn't the scent of a cat or a fox or even a badger. It wasn't the scent of blood. It was just strange. It smelled like death had killed everyone like famine. I grabbed a few leaves of catmint and turned around to see a shadowed figure.

"You are the one that started this. You had to investigate Aquaclaw's death and you caused this!" The creature hissed with spite. It didn't even sound like a cat. His voice was gargled and evilness just surrounded it.

"I don't know what you are talking about." I said glancing around quickly wondering if I had the option to run or if I would have to jump the stream to get away. It looked like I would have to either fight or jump from my eyes.

"You know exactly what I am talking about. You thought there was something off about Aquaclaw's body. You could have believed Tinyclaw's story like everyone else but you wanted to do this. You were the one that truly got her banished. If you did not go too deep into the murder of Aquaclaw, she would still be in the clan." The creature gargled with a growl this time instead of a hiss.

That was when I realized this was a warrior of the Dark Forest. With his body all shadowed, it was hard to figure out which warrior it was. I didn't know most of their warriors anyways. I just knew some that we had fought in the battle last time.

"She would have been figured out anyways. She was killing too many. She killed Aquaclaw, Cosmo, Stripeflash, Fluffygrowl, Fuzzyear, and Galaxy. That is too much to keep hidden from everyone." I said flicking my tail with simplicity. I knew I couldn't keep talking forever, but maybe I could stall for enough time for someone to come after me.

"Everyone believed they were killed by someone else. Everyone believed a warrior of SmallClan killed Aquaclaw. Everyone believed that Cosmo and Galaxy died because of the battles. Everyone believed a rouge killed Stripeflash. Everyone believed that Fluffygrowl and Fuzzyear died in the battle! They could have kept believing those lies!" The Dark Forest warrior hissed before lunging at me quickly.

I had no time to react and took a step back hoping to balance myself better for his attack. My paw ended up stepping on a slippery rock and I fell backwards with the tom pushing my down. My head hit one of the rocks while he scratched at my throat. My eyes fluttered close as I didn't bother to try and struggle. They would find my body and the killer one day.

Bubbles surfaced to the air. They were the last bubbles of air that was in my lungs. I had nothing left now and was loosing lots of blood. I was uncertain if I died of blood loss or drowning.
