[Blacklight's POV]
I woke up in the morning to go on a small morning patrol. We were going to the SmallClan border so we instinctively had more cats on the patrol than the one going to EverClan's border. That patrol only had three cats since EverClan didn't have the cats to do a patrol yet. On my patrol, there was Metalclaw, Branchtail, Airwing, Lightningstrike, Flowerpaw, and me. On the other patrol there was Loveheart, Heartswift, and Deerpaw. There were a few hunting patrols going out as well but I didn't catch the names. I just followed my father out of the camp ready to check the border.
As we wandered to the border my mind was thinking about my sister. I hoped that she made it out in the wild alone. I couldn't imagine what she could be facing on her own. She also had kits coming soon. I wanted to stand up to Midnightstar like Witheredpaw and Maplesnow did, but I couldn't find my voice at the time. I felt bad about it and wished to go on the escort patrol with her but I wasn't picked.
When I woke up in the morning, I didn't see Maplesnow in his nest or Witheredpaw when I went to go get Flowerpaw. They hadn't been there or acting right when they got back to the camp from escorting Tinyclaw out of the clan. I knew they were both super close to her, but I was still worried. I just hoped they did nothing rash when they weren't in the camp.
Flowerpaw already seemed uneasy about her brother being best friends with the traitor. She hadn't said a word since we all set out. Metalclaw hadn't either and his daughter was banished. The group all seemed at ends with each other but we thankfully got to the border quickly.
We all started to make the border when I scented SmallClan scent. I lifted my head and watched as I saw a patrol of around five cats come out way. The leader of the patrol was Willowglow, the deputy. I headed back to Metalclaw quickly with Lightningstrike so we could be ready.
"You filthy DepthClan warriors have crossed the border." The deputy growled at us with her light green eyes narrowed. Metalclaw took the lead and looked back at the female.
"I don't think we have. I believe the border is still between us." He said calmly not wanting to start a fight. For a Dark Forest warrior, he certainly did not seem like it. He was much more peace loving than a fighter even though he clearly knew how to fight.
"No, its behind you. Go back to your side or you might be losing a few whiskers." Willowglow hissed at the tom. Metalclaw easily flicked his tail and looked at the other warriors with her.
"I don't think we need to fight but if that's what you want, go ahead and try. I'm certain you will be the one losing a few whiskers and running with your tail between your legs." Metalclaw hissed at her flexing his sharp claws into the ground beneath him. I wasn't ready and I didn't know if we needed this fight or not.
