Oh, Sophie, one of my least favorite people. She and Chase dated for awhile during freshman year. However, Chase quickly realized that their relationship wasn't going to work out. For one, she was always complaining about something, flirting with almost every guy at school, and whining about the stupidest things. She took the break up pretty hard, and did everything she could to make Chase's life miserable. Showing off her five-minute boyfriends, trying to cheat off his homework, and constantly flirting with him.
We didn't talk to each other after she and Chase broke up.
"Sophie, what are you doing here?" I asked.
"Trying to show my respect to a fellow student! Is that so wrong?"
"It is when you tried to make that student's life a living nightmare!" Jonas exclaimed.
Sophie said nothing. I guess even she realized Jonas was right.
"Now what's this whole conversation about somebody kissing Chase?" I asked.
Cassidy started before Sophie could open her mouth. "Ok, you guys remember we were all hanging out at prom, right, and then Chase and I went on the dance floor?" We nodded. "Well, after the first song was over, I went to the bathroom, and Chase said he'd wait for me on the dance floor. I'm guessing you guys didn't see any of this since neither of you danced?" We nodded again. "When I came back from the bathroom, I saw Sophie following after Chase. He looked really upset, and Sophie was trying to get all over him, and--"
"How dare you! I would never flirt with my ex! I--"
"Sophie," I said bluntly, "Wait until it's your turn." Sophie pouted.
"Anyway, as I was walking over, Sophie grabbed Chase by the shoulders and kissed him! Chase pretty much pushed her off of him. When I got there, Chase and I both told her off and made sure she left us alone. And that was the end of it."
"Can I speak now?" Sophie asked in a mocking tone.
"Yes, Sophie," I sighed.
"Contrary to what Cassidy thinks, Chase and I were simply to rekindle our relationship. And I wasn't following Chase," she said, glaring at Cass, "If anything, he was chasing after me." Ugh, her smug smile made me feel sick. "Chase and I were kissing and then Cassidy got all upset when she saw us, and-and-well, you know."
"Actually, Sophie," Jonas said, "we don't. Why don't you tell us what happened next?"
Sophie's began turning red once again, and she stumbled on throughout her story. "Well, Cassidy got really upset like I said, and she—well, we, that is Chase and I, told her that we were in love, and that-that—"
Jonas interrupted, "Sophie, I think you should just give it a rest. I think we all know who the liar is here."
"Ugh! Whatever!" she yelled, as she walked away like a little girl throwing a tantrum.
"Just like that night at prom," Cassidy sighed. "She just walked away, and thankfully, we didn't have to see her again."
