A few days later..

Lexa's POV

Finn glanced one last time through his rear-view mirror to make sure I still stood on the kitchen window before he started his engine and drove around the corner. I sighed, knowing that he went to work and wouldn't return until afternoon the next day. This gave me exactly one day and a half to do whatever I wanted.
I watched the busy streets and a crowd of people not much older than me walking happily into Sally's café.
I could see the lights changing from green to red and back to green and I heard a lot of noises coming from outside. Car engines echoed through the streets and into our temporary apartment but yet, I was lost in silence.

It depressed me. It wasn't the silence caused by no noise, no. It was my own silence and I was drowning in it.
I tried to think of people I could ask to hang out with but the only one flashing my mind was Clarke. I asked myself what she was doing in the meanwhile, if she was possibly free tonight and whether she would like to hang out for a while.

A phone call would have been easier to find out rather than walking by, considering I didn't even know where she lived..but unfortunately, I didn't have a phone either.
I let out a small, dry laugh as I shook my head and walked from the window to my closet to put on some clothes.
Since I didn't know where my blonde lived, I decided to pay Raven a short visit in hope she was either free tonight or could give me Clarke's address.

I rang the doorbell and waited a couple of seconds, until my mother opened the door with a big warm smile on her face. How I missed her smile that was barely to be found since my father had died.

"Hey mum." I embraced her tightly.
"How are you Lexa?" She held the door open for me after we separated.
I walked inside. "Good I think. Is Raven upstairs?"
"Yes she was on the phone just a couple of minutes ago, just go upstairs honey." Mum rubbed my back.
"I will leave soon, there's some left over in the fridge if you're hungry."
"Since when are you going out?" I cocked an eyebrow. "Are you dating someone?"
Her cheeks turned peachy, pretty unusual for my mother who was rather the less emotional type of woman.
"Kinda." She smiled brightly. "Do you remember Lincoln?"
"Dad's best friend, right?"
She nodded. "Yes we had been close friends ever since your dad died. We somehow developed some kind of romance over the years."

I couldn't help but smile at my mother's happiness.
"I'm happy for you mum." I said. "Have fun."
"You too honey." She blew me a kiss as I walked up the stairs.
From the sounds I heard, I knew Raven was still on the phone and I didn't want to interrupt a conversation so I just waited in front of her door for her to finish.

"Babeee I miss you."
I heard a voice I recognized as Octavia's.
"You could have stayed last night, you know?" Raven laughed.
"I know, but I wanted to check up on  Clarke after she had one of those nightmares about Emma's death again."
"Yeah I think we should spend more time with her and keep her busy most of the time so she may be able to avoid thinking about that date." Raven sighed.
"Good idea babe. The nightmares are getting worse the closer the date approaches. I'm afraid she'll fall back in old habits.."
"We won't let this happen again." Raven said. "I guess I'll see you later?"
"You can bet your sweet ass on it." Octavia chuckled.
"I love you so much and I can't fucking wait to see you and to y'know?.. Mum won't be here tonight"
"Well.. then I can't wait to see you too. I'll be there at 7, I love you."

When I heard the beeping sound I knocked on the door and waited for Raven to call me inside.
"Lex!!" She had a huge smile on her lips. "I didn't know you were coming."
"Yeah I was bored and thought you could use some amazing company?" I winked.
"I wouldn't call it amazing." She winked back. "Do you want to stay tonight or isn't Finn okay with that?" She bit her lip and I could see she was still not fond of the idea of me being with Finn.
