The small group of Inspectors and Enforcers found themselves in the apartment which was notified to have a broken toilet for the past two months, but the owner haven't filled a single complaint. The management of the building were the ones to fill the complaint due to suspicion. Yet, the place seemed clean and nothing off about it, but is owner wasn't present.
"Maybe he's out in some long trip?" Inspector Tsunemori suggested quietly after the small briefing about the owner of the place.
"No. When people leave their apartments, records are left behind on the street scanners. Making it virtually imposible to leave town without any trace. Besides, there haven't been any withdraws from his bank account for the pass two months." Inspector Ginoza answered Tsunemori's question in his usual professional tone.
"He's dead." Enforcer Kogami stated so normal as if he was just announcing it was sunny outside.
"Yeah. Is easier getting killed than disappearing." Kagari agreed with Kogami while wearing a slight smirk on his lips.
"It's too soon for conclusions." Ginoza states after the Enforcer's statement, though it seemed he already had the thought himself.
Tsunemori and Shira both seemed to stare at the males while they analyzed the situation. Though Shinra stood the farthest from everyone, getting a whole sight of the place and people. Doing her own analysis but not really sharing it, yet was already agreeing with the Enforcer's statement. This Kimihiko Hayama was dead and the clogged toiled was probably their lead to this person, that was Shinra's conclusion.
"Is it possible to restart the interior holo?" Kogami asked before Ginoza moved to start it out. Allowing the interior holo to take over the room but they quickly noticed that the couch was out of place.
"Ah. That's..." Tsunemori stared at the couch and the interrupted holo due the object being in the wrong place.
"Someone moved the couch." Shinra broke her silence and slowly scanned the room the moment the interior holo was shut down by Ginoza. Standing out of the way as Kogami and Kagari picked up the couch to move it to the next room. Shinra helped out Tsunemori to pull the rug out the way only for all of them to notice a quite blunt scratch on the wooden floor. "Went to great extents to hide that..." Shinra murmured moving away and slipping her hands inside her work coat.
"What's the big deal with such a small scratch?" Ginoza spoke a bit skeptically.
"Have the lab drones scan it." Kogami spoke before he begun inspecting the edges of the floor, making Shinra's eyes stop on him when he begun speaking up his theory. The more she listened to it, the more it made sense and she agreed with him but her eyes fell over Ginoza a moment.
These two have an rather difficult relationship, don't they? Yet, Kogami seems to treat him properly...but Ginoza's eyes gave him a rather cold look. Shinra took a small breath but when her superior went to get the lab drones, she decided to tag along. "Please let me assist you, sir." Shinra spoke in her polite yet quiet manner, but seemed like her sudden appearance surprised the senior Inspector. "May I?" She asks while her eyes stared over to his.
"You may, if you want." Ginoza answered before he fixed his glasses and both walked to step out of that apartment together for a moment and go get the lab drones. "You had been lucky, starting your job on the easier side." Ginoza stated as he opened the compartment of the smaller utility wagon that was outside the room which held not only Dominator but the lab drones.
"I wouldn't say that just yet, sir. After all if it does end up that the resident was killed, there's still the whole complex work of finding the murderer." Shinra spoke quietly as she picked a few of the lab drones carefully from the compartment before looking to Ginoza. "And I don't know about you sir, but this does feels like murder to me. Still, I wont be jumping to my own conclusions for time being." She added with a slight shrug before she turned around to head back inside the apartment.
