Chapter 11: The Killing Spree. [1/2]

     A few weeks later after Tsunemori went through the memory scoop and some radio silence from Makishima, things slowly begun to turn to the worst. Chaos was a rising but this time their person of interest was right in the middle of it, at least Shinra was sure this time. There was a moment where he almost made everyone believe he disappeared from society, but obviously he just went into hiding for a while. That was probably him planning through all the chaos that was now showing its ugly face. Even with Shogo Makishima's clear picture, finding his whereabouts didn't come any easier. Making Division 1 start to get both anxious and impatient, but that would be disappearing soon enough.

     Yet their work to find Shogo Makishima and apprehend him would begin with something quite unexpected. An alarm rang, getting Division 1 out to the field and into a Pharmacy where an incident occurred. They entered the place while carrying their Dominators while the area has been already blocked by police drones with Komissa-chan holograms repeating the warning message to nearby civilians. The three Inspectors along with the four Enforcers stepped in the establishment to investigate the reason for the stress alarm.

     Upon entry they find two pharmacists dead in quite brutal manners and apparently with objects that could be found in the same place. Lab drones were already scattered and were gathering information and evidence while Kunizuka worked on getting the video footage from the cameras.

     "What's going on?" Ginoza asked as he stood near the door of the room they are investigating. He slowly moves to walk behind Masaoka to get across the room.

     Masaoka who was crouched before the corpse of the male pharmacist with a scissor stuck on his mouth, wore a slight stern frown while observing the body. "Well... The crime itself seems pretty straightforward. The culprit just waltzed right through the entrance, killed the staff, helped himself to whatever substance he wanted, and then calmly walked out those doors." He states as his eyes shift at the end of his words to face towards the door.

     Kunizuka still working on the laptop spoke. "The security camera recorded the whole thing." She states, before long everyone except for her had on their wrist-com's the video footage of the incident playing out.

     The first to comment about it was Kagari. "What the hell's with that helmet? Anyone can tell that he's suspicious."

     Kunizuka turns to look at Kagari for a moment while speaking. "Just being suspicious isn't enough to set off the security. From the time he entered the store, his Psycho-Pass showed a normal value and his hue was clear. The log is also recorded on the scanner." She finished explaining and faced her laptop again.

     "And people don't have the same malice they used to have in the past. Meaning even if you find it suspicious, everyone else could just find it unusual but not dangerous. Making the victims react only when they saw their lives at risk but not before." Shinra comments while her eyes rested on the holographic footage that played before her.

    There was a second of silence before Kagari hummed quietly. "Isn't this guy exactly like that Makishima guy? He can kill while keeping his Psycho-Pass normal." He questions while his eyes rose around the end of his words to look over at the others around him.

     Shinra's eyes laid over Kagari for a second but then lowered again to the image. Not a chance...

     Ginoza turns to Kagari but then stares down at his own image. He used his free hand to zoom in the image of the guy wearing the helmet. "This helmet is probably the key. It must've had some sort of feature that enabled it to deceive the cymatic scan. That Makishima guy, who got the jump on both Inspector Tsunemori and Fukugawa, might've used a similar device." Ginoza spoke as his eyes fell on Tsunemori, Kogami and Shinra.
