Here it goes a new one!! I'm so sorry for taking this long but I hope you like this one. 💕 I'll try to update it as soon as I can!

Looking at the mirror and she couldn't recognize herself. She was a completely different woman now comparing to the beginning of the semester. She wasn't 100% focused on her work, she wasn't feeling like she had control of her actions anymore like she used to. She had changed.

But change always scared her. Actually the "not be able to control everything and be irrational" freaked her out. And Derek, yes, Derek, was the reason of this change. If not the entire reason, he was the most part of it. However, she had to face this, face him, as they had to work together.

As she was ready to take a shower her phone started to ring. It was Webber.

"Hi Richard. Is everything OK?"

"I'm sorry to call you right before your time here Meredith, but I made a mistake and I just realized it. Remember that thing I talked about with you and Derek? So, we actually only have 3 weeks until the due date instead of 7."

"Oh God. Okay. Crap. Sorry!"

"I'm the one who owes you two a huge apology. However, I need this done in 3 weeks."

"We'll figure a way to do it."

"Thank you, Grey. It means a lot to me. I'll call Derek now. See you later."

"You too, Sir."

At the time that she hung up the phone she realized how awful that situation would be. They'd have two weeks to plan everything and get things done and another one to explain it all to the students.

She took off her robe and entered the shower. The lavender conditioner was almost over and that was all she wanted to think about. No Phillip, no Derek. Her phone was ringing again, but she wanted to enjoy that little peaceful moment all by herself.

"Derek!" He hear a voice behind the door

"Oh! Richard! Hi!"

"Hm I've just talked to Meredith."

"OK? And?"

"I've made a terrible mistake. I told you that you'd have 7 weeks until the fair but I was wrong. You have only 3."

"WHAT?! I'm filled up with exams to prepare."

"I know. I'll find someone to help you with that. But if you two could just focus on the fair in the next two weeks it'd mean a lot to me."

"Fine. If Meredith agrees I'm in."

"Great. She's in. Give her a call and if you need me you know here to find me."

Meredith wasn't answering so he decided to call again later.

In his way to the teachers lounge was Mark.

"Look who's here! Long time no see, huh?"

"Mark! Hi! I've been so busy lately that I can't even find time to have a beer or something."

"I know, but let's go to Asia's on Friday."

"OK, I need some time out of this school. Richard screwed me up in a project with Meredith."

"So I've heard. He said something about 7 weeks when you actually have only 3, right?"

"Exactly! And the thing is: I wanted to avoid her for a while, at least until I get my ideas straight again."

"Didn't you work that out?"

"Not really. I mean, we're on a break. She was supposed to talk to her husband but I doubt she will do that. She keeps pretending that she has no problems."

"Relax. It'll work. Somehow it will work. You two have some kind of a chemistry that I've never seen before."

They kept walking to grab a cup of coffee when Lexie showed up.

"Hey you two! Oh Derek, Richard told me that I'm supposed to help you with whatever you need. What's going on?"

Mark rolled his eyes because was about to hear the same story for the 9th time. Derek explained her what had happened and she didn't think twice before making a way for that to work.

Lexie was a very sweet woman and Mark couldn't take his eyes off her. She was always playing with her thin brown hair and had the most beautiful smile. Furthermore she loved to help people and it was almost impossible not to like her.

"Derek, I can talk to Meredith too to see if she needs any help with her materials, that way you two can be 100% on this project."

At the same time that Mark was being nice, that were some second intentions involved to find ways to be closer to Lexie.

"Sure! She'll be here later. I tried to call her but she wasn't answering."

"That's lovely, Mark!" Said Lexie "Oh" and she continued "We could try to work together too if you want."

Anyone could see joy in Mark's eyes.

"Sure! Hm..." he paused "We can go out later for some drinks at Asia's. What do you think?"

"Yes! Of course! I'm leaving at 7PM tonight." She added

"So am I! If nothing goes wrong at the meeting." He joked

"I can wait for you here." She said with a tiny and shy smile on her face while turning to walk way into the elevator

"I'm proud of you, Mark" Derek joked

"Me too man"

"I gotta go to class right now. See if you find Meredith and then let me now."

They went in opposite directions, one with a smile and the other worried about what was coming.
