Dean's eyes flickered open to see Ace sleeping soundly.

That's right Dean thought the first time he slept in my bed was two weeks ago, Jem came home a week ago yet he insists on sleeping over most of the time

Dean chuckled softly and sat up.

"Dean!" Jemma called.

Dean got up and didn't wake Ace just yet. He walked down stairs.

"Yea?"

"Someone is here to talk to you" Jemma said.

"Am i in trouble?" Dean questioned.

"No" Oliver said walking up to the boy, "i just need to talk to you"

"I knew this would happen" Dean sighed and they sat down.

"Dean by now you must know what my family is" Oliver said.

"Of course, my senses aren't broken, you're light witches, otherwise known as sliver witches, i must say i'm impressed, your breed was deemed gone decades ago"

"Yes, my blood line has worked very herd to keep out race hidden and away from all harm" Oliver sighed, "You must understand, as a shadow demon, you are a great threat to my family"

Ace pushed himself against the wall out of people's view and listed to his fathers conversation with Dean.

"I understand sir" Dean stood up and turned to walk away.

"Dean" Oliver said, "my son is very important to me, please keep your dark hands off of him"

"I.Understand. Sir." Dean repeated.

Oliver sighed as the boy walked away. He hoped his son would understand that Dean was a danger.

Dean walked past ace causing Ace's hair to brush in the small wind. Dean's gaze quickly met Ace's then Dean disappeared up the stairs. Ace fell to his knees and Oliver jumped up.

"Ace!" he gasped.

Ace looked up at his father with teary eyes, "Dad, am i monster?"

Oliver cradled his son in his arms, "no son, you aren't, we're the good guys"

"Witches?" Ace asked.

"Your great grand father found a way to hide our existence and it's always been in this town, i know you don't remember but you were 5 when we moved to California, you once played with Maple and Dean but when we found out who they were we ran, shadow demons are the things that kill us"

They heard a door slam and Jemma grabbed her jacket and stormed out chasing after Dean.

"Dean's not a monster!" Ace pushed away from his father.

He stood up and ran from the house. He was glad he had good cardio cause he didn't want to stop until he found Dean. Somehow he ended up at a park. He spotted Dean sitting still on a swing while Maple swung her ghostly form light compared to the somewhat cloudy day.

"Brother" she smiled, "Remember when daddy would take us here?"

"I remember" Dean said barley above a whisper.

"And mommy would get mad when he let us get dirty" She giggled.

"I remember" he said.

"And when we came out here alone and it started Raining, what was that song you sang Dean? it went something like..." Maple sang in her little soft voice, " It doesn't matter who you are, you're beautiful, you're beautiful, i see you there hanging on a tree, you bled and then died but then you rose again for me, you're  sitting there on your heavenly throne soon we will be coming home, you're beautiful"

"You're beautiful" Dean sang softly.

Dean looked up and Ace stood with his fists clenched and his shoulders ridged with tears streaming down his face.

"Ace" Dean was shocked to see the boy standing in front of him.

"I don't care" Ace cried.

"Hm?" Dean cocked his head to the side.

"I don't care what my father says!"

"Ace" Dean lowered his head and put on a hard expression before looking back up at Ace "you're father was right, the light should stay away from the darkness"

Dean walked away and the sun set. Ace violently wiped his tears away and looked at Dean's back as he walked away.

Ace took off towards him and wrapped his arms around Dean from behind making the boy jerk forward.

"You're not alone god damn it!" Ace yelled burring his face into the back of Dean's shirt, "There is more to this, i know, but don't shut me out, you're not alone. I'm on your side."

Dean tipped his head up looking at the fading sun. Ace nuzzled between Dean's shoulder blades.

"It won't work out" Dean said.

"I don't care"

"We can't be open about it"

"I don't care"

"I could kill you"

"I. Don't. Care." Ace stated.

"Ace" Dean sighed, "its dangerous"

"I'm on your side whether you like it or not" Ace said matter-of-factly.

"Stupid boy" Dean chuckled.

"Mmhm" Ace nodded not letting his skin leave Dean's

Dean put his hand over one of Ace's.

"You really are stupid" Dean sighed.

"Well you're stuck with me so get with it"

Dean barked a laugh. he covered Ace's hand on his chest with his own. ace wiggled his fingers between Dean's and smiled into Dean's warm back. Dean pried Ace's hands off of him and turned around to face the slightly smaller boy.

"I'm a mess" Dean said, "nightmares haunt me and i can't do anything for myself in this state, i got ticked off by someone bumping into me and almost killed the guy".

"Dean" ace soothed twirling Dean's hair in his strong fingers, "i'll take care of you"

Dean pressed his forehead to Ace's. Ace sucked a breath in then pressed his lips to Dean's. Dean's surprisingly soft lips moved with instinct.

"I'll protect you Dean" Ace smiled against the boys lips.

"And for once i'll let you"

It was one of those moments people only dreamed of, something out of a movie. The moment was blissful while it lasted but when Dean snapped his head away and looked int the direction of Ace's house it ended.

"Dean?" Ace questioned with a quiver in his voice.

"It's awake"
