We were driving home, it was past midnight.
It was just my daught Sarah and I, and nothing in the world could bring us down. Sarah had just won her first trophy in rep soccer. Usually kids would make fun of her, because of her size. But now they applauded her because she scored the winning goal, and it really opened up their eyes to how kind, loving, innocent, and selfless this girl was.
She was drunk on happiness, and I was drunk on alcohol.
We thought Sarah was invincible.
Nothing in the world can bring you down, you beautiful girl.
I guess none of us even thought that the car crash that came afterwards wouldn't jst shatter the windows, but the very foundation of our lives - broken into a million irreplacable pieces.
