"Noah?" Casey asks.

"Yes?" I answer back.

We sit on the park bench with nothing in the world disrupting our conversation.

"How do you know Liz?" She asks, shooting me with questions.

"Where did that question come from?" I say, scared of sharing the truth.

"She was asking me about how I came about her job opening, I said my friend Noah Maverick. She got all taken aback after that, and asked me to leave." Casey informs me.

"Oh." I reply. A bird flies through the sky, chirping, I wish I was that bird, free to fly away happily from tragedy and accusations.

"Yeah. So how do you know her?" She asks one again.

"I don't." I lie.

"You're lying. What's the real reason." She demands.

"Fine, she is a family friend of mine. Like my third cousin or something." I shoot back at her.

"I know that's a lie, come on Noah!" Oh man, she sure is persistant.

"Alright, alright. She is my older brother's ex-girlfriend. She is really bitter about my family, ever since they broke up." I say.

"Hey Noah, guess what."

"What?"

"You're still lying."
