I feel as if I'm going to have another panic or anxiety attack soon, so I'm back at the diner. The sign is hanging low and two of the neon lights have dimmed out, so is flashes Bo Pee Dier when it should be, Bo Peep Diner.
I breathe slowly and count to then, and then I march in with as much courage and bravery I can muster. It's embarrassing being a homeless man, sometimes. I try not to let it get to my head, but most time it does.
The bell dings as I walk in, and she notices right away. "Hi Watson!" She shouts, that is right. She doesn't even know my name, yet she managed to make a connection with me.
"I never did introduce myself," I say as I sit down. "You can call me Noah, Casey." My confidence was low at first, I don't dot too good when it comes to making friends, but Casey just makes me forget all my worries, and makes me worry about the now.
"Fan-tas-tic!" She hoots. "I see you just couldn't get enough of me. It hasn't even been a day and you're already crawling back for more." Her face animates up like the a laughing emoticon one of those advanced electronics use.
"So, I didn't come here for no reason. I have a lot of things on my mind, and I thought you could help. You're the only, somewhat, friend I have nowadays." I explain to her. She scratches her head, and then nods to show that she understands my jumbled sentences.
"I used to be a very bad man, and now I'm dying. I just, I need to make up for everything I have done, I need to make things right. But the cancer could strike and have me in the hospital at any time. I don't know what to do, and it's eating my insides out."
"That's sad. Don't let it get to you, though. I can help! Here, you know what? We need to make a plan. We will make a full out plan about all the little things we will do to win everyone's forgiveness and your self fulfillment. The first step to this shall happen right now, since I am just clocking out of my shift." She runs off to the wall and hangs her apron on a silver hook. Then jogs over to me with her iPhone gripped tightly in her hand.
She then grabs my hand and yanks me all the way outside to the busy streets of the city. People hustle around everywhere and I stand right in the middle of the crown, going unnoticed.
Casey then lets go of my hand and pulls out a portable speaker from her bag. She then uses the Bluetooth to sync her phone's music with the speaker. Suddenly, the song Tongue Tied by GROUP LOVE, is blaring through the speakers.
Casey grabs my hand once again and we sprint away through the busy streets. We run over benches, dance with strangers, and scream at the top of our lungs to the song through fields surrounding an empty park. We cause so much happiness and havoc, it's beautiful. People look at us strange but that only encourages us to sing louder and dance even more outrageously. We prance down through the city together with this song on repeat.
Casey accomplished something that I thought would be impossible, even if it were just for ten minutes. She made me forget about all the troubles, pain, and suffering that I have created and am now currently enduring. She's a miracle worker, and if there is indeed any Gods out there in this world, I'd like to thank them for having her come crashing into my gloomy life, to brighten it up like the sun.
