Chapter 7

*Ash’s P.O.V.*

I woke up in a bright, clean room. I didn’t know how I got there or why I was there. I looked around, it looked like a..hospital? I made to get up, gasped as a sharp pain ripped through my stomach and lay back down. Fuck, that hurt.

My stomach.. I was stabbed! Stevie had stabbed me! I looked around, terrified he might be there. He wasn’t, but that didn’t calm me down much. He was still out there and he could come and do it again.

The door opened and I looked at it wondering who was coming in. A pretty looking nurse did. She smiled at me.

“Oh good, you’re awake! You were out quite a while sweetie. Didn’t do much help when we had to give you things for the pain and when you were in surgery” She was babbling on. Surgery? I had surgery? 

“Um, excuse me..? Why did I have surgery?” Had he done that much damage? That asshole.

“Oh dear, of course you wouldn’t know. Silly me! You were stabbed twice in the stomach, do u remember?” I nodded. “You needed surgery to repair a tear in your stomach and needed stitches. You have quite an amount of bruises, cuts and scars, has this happened before?” I didn’t know what to say, because if I told on my dad he’d beat me even worse..

“Never mind, you don’t have to tell me anything you don’t want to. I’m going to change the dressing on your head, this might sting a bit. You just relax and I’ll tell your boyfriend you’re awake in a minute.”

Jeez, didn’t this woman ever shut up? But boyfriend..? I don’t have a boyfriend. It wouldn’t be Stevie would it?! Would he have come to the hospital and said he was?!

The nurse dabbed something on my head and I winced, temporarily distracted.

“Sorry love.” What was it with the pet names? “All done now though. You relax and take it easy, I’ll send in your young man.” She smiled and left. Thank God, I thought she’d never shut up!

The door opened again and in walked Eoghan?  What was he doing here?

“Ash! You’re ok!” he ran over and hugged me tightly but gently. “I was so worried.. What happened? Who did this to you? Why were you alone that late at night? Anything could have happened, which it did!” He was worse than any mother! He must have really been worried though..

“Eoghan, Eoghan, shh.. It’s ok now, I’m ok now. How did you know I was here?” That was what I really wanted to know.

“Oh, I was going out to the skate-park and I heard someone calling for help so went into the woods and found you bleeding so I called an ambulance.” He looked at me with tears in his eyes.

“So you said you were my boyfriend?” I laughed.

 “I was really scared Ash, you were losing so much blood and then you blacked out..”

He blinked away the tears. Did he really care about me that much? Woah.. He must really like me.. I put my hand on the back of his neck and pulled him closer to me.

“I’m sorry for being a bitch yesterday, rejecting you then not speaking to you. Now I know I shouldn’t have said no..” I looked straight in to his eyes, seeing worry, confusion, relief, happiness and anger. I leaned in and kissed him. He kissed back immediately, running his hand through my hair, pulling me close.

I heard the heart monitor speed up slightly and Eoghan smiled into the kiss, laughing a little. I blushed but didn’t feel too embarrassed, he made me feel special, loved, the way he was so gentle.

We kissed for ages, eventually pulling away from each other. I took Eoghan’s hand and smiled at him.

“You still up for going out sometime? And being my boyfriend?” I smiled coyly at him. He laughed.

“If you are m’lady” It was my turn to laugh.

“Of course silly” We kissed again.
