*Eoghans’ P.O.V.*
I smiled to myself as Ash left the kitchen. Jeez, I was kind of in love with her already. She was perfect to me. I was making toast for her when I heard someone playing a guitar. Ash, I assumed. She was really good and had a lovely voice. I’d have to get her to play for me..
The doorbell rang and I went to see who it was. I opened the door to find a red haired girl standing there.
“Hey! I came over to welcome you to the neighbo- Eoghan?!” She knew me? I looked at her properly.
“Ailish?! This is where you moved that time?! Fancy us both ending up moving to the same place!” Ailish! She was my ex-girlfriend, until a few, months ago when she moved away. We hadn’t really spoken since.
“Yeah! Oh my God, it’s been ages since I’ve seen you! I’ve missed you so much!” Without realising what she had done, her lips were on mine, kissing me. When my brain caught up to what was happening I pushed Ailish off me.
“Ailish.. I’m with someone else now..” I felt awkward and guilty. “Could you leave..? I’ll talk to you some other time..” I gently pushed Ailish out the door and closed it. I wasn’t going to tell Ash..
I turned back and went to the kitchen to finish making the toast. It was starting to go cold and Ash was nowhere in sight. I went to the bottom of the stairs.
“Ash? Are you coming down?” No one answered me, it was like a ghost house. “Ash?!” I went up the stairs two at a time. I looked in all the rooms, including the bathrooms. I was starting to get frantic.
“Ash?!” I ran in to Caseys’ en suite. In the sink was a razor, covered in blood. There were blood droplets on the ground and in the sink, shining like little jewels. Shit. She cut herself again..
“ASH?!” I went back to my room. My guitar was lying on my bed, Ashs’ phone beside it and the window was open, the curtains swaying in the breeze. She must have climbed out the window, God knows how because my room was on the second story. But none of that mattered now because I had to find her.
*Ashs’ P.O.V.*
I pulled the razor over my wrist, over and over. Blood glistened from the cuts, running down my arm on to the floor. It felt so good, it let out the pain and anger I was feeling..
I had to get away. I didn’t know where to, I just needed to get away. I dropped the bloody razor in the sink and tip toed to Eoghans’ room. I threw my phone on his bed and opened the window.
I hooked one leg out of it, then the other. I pushed myself off the window sill, down on to the hard earth below. I landed in a crouch, a sharp pain ripping through me. Damn that hurt..
I straightened up and took off running. I ran aimlessly for ages not knowing where I was headed. Suddenly I was at the beach, the place I came to most of all. I walked through the soft sand until I came to my cave.
I slumped down, wrapping my bloody arms around my knees. Only then did I let the tears flow freely.
