It was almost time for the tournament. I was excited. Luckily both Ashley and I got the number we wanted. Of course it may be a little confusing in the actual game, but I just wanted to see her happy.
It was almost time for the tournament, we had field first. Ashley was freaking out. I know she was going to do great.
"Hey Carsons, you good?" I asked pulling her off to the side.
"Yeah! I'm just freaking out, and looking for Monty and Hannah. All of our friends are supposed to be here." she rambled on fiddling with her fingers.
"You're nervous." I stated with a small smile on my face.
"Wh-What?" she stuttered looking down, with a slight blush in her cheeks.
"You're nervous..." I repeated taking my fingers under her chin lifting it up slowly.
"Just a little bit..." she didn't deny.
"Maybe I can help." I said as my eyes switched back and forth from her eyes to her lips.
"Yeah, maybe." she said doing the same.
"Maybe I could-" I stopped mid sentence leaning in.
"Kiss me." she completed standing up in her tippy toes, wrapping her arms around my neck.
We sat there for a couple seconds, my lips resting upon hers moving in sync. Almost like they were meant to be. We both pulled away simultaneously gasping for air, not daring to distance ourselves more than we had to.
I look down on her gorgeous face and notice her little freckles scattered upon her soft, beautiful face. Her skin glowing in the light. Her soft lashes, and her eyes searching through them up at me. I noticed the light pink color spilling on her cheeks when she notices me staring at her beauty.
"Uh-Hmmm." someone coughed from beside us, pulling us away. Adding that distance neither of us wanted.
"Montgomery!" she yelled running and jumping in his arms.
"Hey ash, I got your medicine. Hannah has it." he said hugging her tight and setting her down before shooting her off.
"Hey man." I said, preforming our handshake.
"You like her." he states leaning against the fence with me. The first game was about to end and we were up next.
"Is it obvious?" I questioned, slightly blushing as an image of her smile comes into play.
"You're thinking about her again. It's obvious to me, and everyone else." he states truthfully.
"Man, she's just so-" I stopped
"Perfect." he finished. I got chills the second he said it, I mean it's true. But how could I miss it? He liked her, she was his best friend and he loved her and I just came in and ruined it. But I like her too much to let her go.
"Oh man. You love her! I didn't know you have feelings for her." I rambled feeling bad.
"NO! NO! I like... Rose." he said quietly.
"Rose? Rose Williams? The girl who absolutely hates Ashley because y'all have been best friends since you were three." I said astounded.
"Man I know, but when I'm around her it's like.."
"Like you have the world in your hands and if you look away for a second, she'll disappear out of your fingers? Yeah! That's how I feel when I'm with Carsons." I smiled thinking about her.
"She cares about you. Just don't hurt her man. And please don't tel her about Rose. I haven't told her but it's something I need to do." he frowned thinking of how much it would hurt Ashley.
"Hey boys!" Ashley chirped slightly punching Monty in the arm, and sliding under my arm on the fence.
"Hey Ash." Monty replies
"Ready for the game babe?" I asked not realizing the words that slipped from my mouth.
"Oh the things you do to me, Atkins." she said lifting herself up to reach my year, as she nibbled on it slightly, and sending chills down my spine.
I lowly chuckled to myself watching her walk off the her friends before going off on the field. The things this girl did to me made me go insane. I turn to Monty who had a smirk plastered on his face, I said my goodbyes before heading out in the field warming up for our first game.
