RICH MAN IN LOVE (2)

  Seoul, Korea (1996).

The journey from US to Korea is not that hard because he used his parent's private jet which now belongs to him. He tries to sleep but in the end he just played game on the flight. He arrived at the Incheon International Airport in the evening. He looked around at the Incheon International Airport, it was big and everyone speak in Korean here. It has been winging in his mind on how he is going to live and manage here? He doesn't know any Korean words, their culture and the most part is he doesn't know anything about his grandfather who is now his legal guardian. Although he knew his father is Korean but he never once heard he speaks that language and talking about his family. He looked at his Butler, Mr Matthew and his cook, Mrs Buntley and his personal driver Mr James. When he asked these three persons if they want to come with him to live in Korea, all of them without reluctant agreed. Although he knew that he doesn't really need them because as anyone can see they are too old to work, but for him these three people are his family. He mostly grows up with them. He spent most of his time with them than his own parents. They teach him how to become himself. He doesn't think he can leave them behind. He will talk to his great grandfather about them. Maybe ask him to let them stay by his side as a companion and he can find another person to do all the works. It is time for them to stop working and spend their old time with luxury that he can give to them because they deserve it more than anyone.

"Are you Mr Peter? Your transportation is here," asked a young man with a black suit. Peter nods his head. He bows 90 degrees and it make Peter feel weird when he did that especially in the crowded of Incheon Airport. There are more eyes watching them now. Then he show Peter the way to the car.

"I have been told that your companions have to go directly to your mansion (showing me the MPV car) while the young master have to go and meet your grandfather," said the young man while opening the car door for Peter. Peter just nods his head at him.

"Mr Matthew, Mrs Buntley and Mr James, you don't have to wait for me. Just take a rest," said Peter at three of them. Peter know they love him that the reason why they agree to come to this foreign country with him when he asked them.
He watched as they walked to the car that the young man point earlier while giving him some encouraging smile. Peter nods his head and slowly goes inside the car that is waiting for him.
Peter says nothing. He just looked outside the car all the way to his grandfather mansion. There are something bothering him all this while but he don't know if it rude if he ask. He looks at the man who is sitting next to the man who is driving the car. It took him a minute when he decided to just ask the man.

"I am sorry for bothering you, but what is your name?" he asked politely. "My name is Kang Min, young master, and his name is Kim Soojae" he said while pointing to his friend who is driving. Peter nods his head.

"Mr Kang, can I ask you a couple of questions?" he asked.

"Oh, you don't have to call me politely sir and yes of course you can ask me anything young master," answered Kang Min.

"How long have you been working with my grandfather?" Peter looks at him waiting for his answer.

"Actually we both just had been hired to serve you, young master."

"Oh, are both of you going to be my body guard too?"

"Yes I am and please take good care of me young master," answered Kang Min.

"How old are you?" asked Peter.

"I am only 20 years old, sir," answered Kang Min.

"And you?" ask Peter

"I am also 20 years old, sir," answered Soojae.

"Oh... do you really my bodyguard?" he asked.

"Don't worry sir, we already finish our bodyguard lesson and have a certificate," answered Kang Min.

"He is the best from our batch," answered Soojae.

"Actually both of us are the best from our batch," explained Kang Min humbly.

"Hmm... Thank you, I hope I can trust both of you," said Peter.

After a while, Soojae stops a car in front of the big gate. He asks permission to enter, than the gate open. Then he starts to drive again and this time a house came into view. It a big wooden Korean house with some modern touch. When the car stop Kang Min open the door for Peter.

"We are here Mr Peter. Let us meet your family," Kang Min said and gives him his encouraging smile. Peter nods and step out from the car.

When he walked inside the house, he met some of the workers. They all bow down their head when he walked past. He can hear a whisper among them but he doesn't understand them at all. So he ignored them and keeps his head high and does as his parent teaches him, be proud and don't show your weakness.

He walks beside Kang Min and only stops in front of a wooden door. Kang Min knocks the door and waits for the answer from inside. Then he opens the door and let Peter to enter first. Inside the room, an older woman, four middle age man and four women who are almost the same age as his father, and one of them holding a baby boy and there are also seven boys and three girls siting with the adult. Peter thinks their ages are between 13 to 7 years old. All of them sit at the big and beautiful sofa around the coffee table with one old man that Peter assumed is his grandfather because he sits at the head of coffee table.

Everyone look at Peter now. He cannot find a smile from the older woman. He can feel she hate him. But then he look at the old man which have a big smile on his face.

"Come here young man, sit beside me," he asked in English. Peter walks to his side and look at him and due to respect he pulled out his hand to shake the old man hand. The old man smiles and pulls his hand and shakes it. Then Peter sit at the chair his grandfather appointed for him.

"Hmm, let me introduce you to your family. This here is your grandmother. She is not your real grandmother though. I have married again after your grandmother died at a young age. And with her I have 3 more sons and one daughter. So this is your step uncles and their wives and your step auntie and her husband," he looks at Peter with a smile and hope in his eyes.

"You don't have to introduce us to him, he should know," said his grandmother.

"That is where you are wrong, Soo Hyun just knows about us after his parents' death. My son doesn't have time to tell his only son about us. You should know; when he left years ago, he intend to cut all ties with us, and I think you know the reason," said his grandfather in Korea while looking at his wife.

Peter grandmother look at her husband, "Are you telling them that it was my fault Jee Chung choose to cut all the ties?" asked her grandmother.

"I don't say anything, I just saying you know what happened," said his grandfather.

I look at Mr Kang for a translation. But before Mr Kang say anything,

"And you young man. You need to start learn Korean language cause you will live here for all your life."

And from that day, Peter life in Korea starts.
