Chunhwa sat on a large white stone by the river where the Hwarang men wash their clothes the next day. She had advised the Hwarang General this morning to supervise the training for today as she was not feeling well and that she needed to take a rest. Damyi had asked Chunhwa if she could accompany her to the river at least but she shook her head and told her maid that she wanted to be alone for a while. Worried but obedient, Damyi had granted her request to be alone in order to give some time for herself.

She couldn't help but think about the dream that she had last night. It has been seven years ever since the last time she had that nightmare. It felt as real as it always had been before and up until now, she still couldn't point out to whom the voice belonged to.

Lost in her thoughts, she did not realized that someone had came and sat beside her.

"A penny for your thoughts?"

Chunhwa immediately snapped her head to the left at the voice and sees Jidwi sitting beside her.

"Master Jidwi." she says, blinking at him in surprise.

"Sorry, did I startle you? I just observed that you seem to be preoccupied these days and I realized that you were not present during our training." he tells her with an apologetic yet worried smile.

"Is there something troubling you?"

She immediately shook her head, "Not really, I was just thinking about this and that."

"And what could 'this and that' might be?" he asks her, raising an eyebrow.

Chunhwa did not answer him and turned her head towards the river ahead of them. She remained silent for a while that Jidwi thought that he had said something wrong as he continued to look at her. He was about to open his mouth to apologize but she suddenly spoke once more.

"Master Jidwi..."

"Hm?"

"Do you believe what that scroll said a couple of days ago?"

She turned her head towards Jidwi to look at him in the eye.

"That the King is within Hwarang."

Jidwi looked at her for a moment, before a nonchalant smile reached up his lips.

"Who knows?" he shrugs, "How about you, do you think that the King is within Hwarang?"

"Maybe." Chunhwa shrugs, turning her head back at the river and Jidwi does the same as well.

"Maybe not, I'm not sure."

The both of them watched the water as it flows through the river while the wind was gently blowing the leaves of the trees around them.

"The other Hwarangs think that Master Sunwoo is the King." she speaks after a few moments of silence. "At some point, I did think that he was too."

"But...?" he couldn't help but probe as her words felt lacking to him.

She turned to look at him once again and he does the same as well.

"But something just doesn't feel right, you know."

Jidwi tilted his head a little to the side, confused. "How could you say so?"

"Sam Maekjong..." she starts but shook her head as if saying his name without any respect was a mistake, "I mean, the King and I were childhood friends, you see."
