"Work out what's happened to Amy Pond, explore a bit! Come back to me when you have an idea.." Explains the Doctor.
I roll my eyes, "alright, whatever, anything to find her!"
His face falls. I am confused, surely that was a good thing. We have a chance of finding Amelia!George suggests searching around the church.
"I don't understand why the Doctor doesn't just tell us George!" I say. It doesn't add up, why is he testing me? He doesn't need to see my detective skills? George rolls his eyes, "you said anything to find Amy! You were so optimistic before. Come on babe!" I agree and follow him outside into the graveyard. The rain has stopped, the sky is clear, George waves his torch around randomly. I quickly turn on my torch. It's gloomy, although the sky is clear; there is a scent of rain in the atmosphere. The gravestones stand like shadows in the mist.
My torch hits a gravestone.
I read it.
In loving memory of Rory Arthur Williams, died age 82
And his loving wife, Amelia Williams, died age 87
I scream, collapsing into the floor. My sobs her harder and harder and I'm banging my fists against the ground. The anger and sadness is building up inside me. They're dead. I have lost my best friends.George comes running over and realises the situation, I'm still crying and I can see him tearing up too.
"I see you've worked it out then..." whispers the Doctor, sitting beside me.
I slowly nod. "Doctor - why didn't you save her?" I snap, still half crying.
"I tried too. It was her decision, she wanted to be with Rory." He says, clearly hurt.
"But why did they die so old? Amy was definitely not 87!" I remark.
"What does that tell you, Alice Cooke, come on; clever, clever girl use your brain!"
I suddenly have an idea of the situation. My eyes light up; "something or somehow she was sent to a time era or left in a time period - she still lived her whole life, but not in present day!"
The Doctor smirked, "you've got it."
"Then we can still see her! We can go in your blue box thingy! We can change the future!" I jump up, excited to see her again.
"No!" Says the Doctor, suddenly. "If you change the future, it's dangerous!"
"But Amy told us time could be rewritten!" Replies George, standing up.
"Not all of it..." says the Doctor, solemnly.
