Next morning was hell for Julie.
She crawled out of bed as slowly as possible before she was forced to retake her classes at The Fortress.
Last night, right when she walked into the room she shared with Ellie, she was bombarded with questions that she didn't answer because she had just been to hell and back, and she knew that Ellie would just blame her for everything that had happened.
Julie walked slowly towards one of the lecture rooms.
Do you know that feeling when everyone stares at you as you walk by? Well, that was exactly the feeling Julie was experiencing as she walked down the hall, except that it wasn't just a feeling: it was a fact.
Julie sat down at the last row of the room, hoping to go unnoticed.
Soon, everyone was entering the room, taking their seats as they waited for the professor.
First class? Basic rules to destroy supernatural creatures. Great.
"Did you hear about that girl Julie who came back?"
Julie turned around to hear what another girl was saying about her to a boy.
"She was one of the best hunters of our generation, wasn't she?" The boy asked.
"Yeah, but rumor has it she has gone to the vampire's side..." The girl said, sighing.
The boy laughed. "Well, I never saw her, but if what people say is true, then she must have become a ridiculously hot vampire!"
Julie twisted her face in disgust. Boys.
Julie turned her head back around to see the teacher entering the room.
"I had already taken this class last semester... Got an Extraordinary in the exam..." Julie thought to herself, as she pretended to pay attention.
Today's lesson? Vampires.
Julie snickered at this irony: she would most likely be learning how to kill herself, not like she didn't know already.
"These creatures are of the darkest parts of Hell. They have the power to control your mind, seduce your spirit. They are deadly and they must be destroyed..." The teacher lectured, as Julie put a bit of attention.
The teacher just continued babbling on about the ways you should use a stake to kill a vampire, what not to do if you were to encounter one... Each rule he named was everything Julie had forgotten the time she had come across William.
Julie started playing with the ring on her finger, the one Katy had given her to protect her from the sunrays. What had Katy meant when she said that William "still cared for her"? Julie sighed, not really wanting to dwell on that thought.
"Miss Hamilton?"
Julie snapped her head up. "Yes?"
"What is the best way to kill a vampire?" The teacher asked her.
If Julie didn't know him better, she could have sworn that the teacher was well aware of her condition, and he was mocking her.
"The best and fastest way, is to burn it down." Julie answered confidently.
The teacher turned around to continue with the lesson, not without adding a "Please pay attention to the class."
How could she even pay attention when there were more pressing matters on her mind?
...
Once the first morning classes were finally over, Julie went towards the lunch room. She took a trail and walked over to the queue that was forming so that lunch would be served to them.
