Gem for success
"Good things come to those who wait..... greater things come to those who stand up and do anything to make it happen."
............................................................
I woke up rather late in the morning, but with a smile on my face. I recalled the little talk I and Azriel had last night. And his smile. His gorgeous smile. The knock on my door snapped me out of my thoughts.
"Fer, we're having breakfast come downstairs." Nathaniel said.
"Good morning to you too. By the way where have you been. I haven't seen you since you dropped Natty off at the airport."
"Somewhere, now will you come downstairs."
I rolled my eyes at him.
"I wonder how you'll look without your cute eyeballs."
I looked at him in horror.
"That was a joke right."
He gave me a weird look and went downstairs, with me following him.
I made my way to the dining room and sat down to have breakfast.
I stared at the plain looking food in front of me and then at James who looked pretty happy. I scanned the room for Azriel but there was no sign of him.
"Hey Jamie, erm... Am I supposed to eat this?"
Okay, I know I'm really selective when it comes to food but I hate plain and tasteless food.
"You know what don't answer that."
"So Nat, Natty and you got along pretty well when she was kidnapped right."
"What's your point, Fer." He replied.
"Are you always this hostile or do you just dislike me."
"No he doesn't dislike you Fer, he's just acting like this because some girl probably rejected him."
"James..." He warned.
"What girl Jamie? Was it Natty who broke your heart Nat." I cooked.
He threw a napkin at me and I got up.
"Here's some advice Nat, if Natty liked you at all she'd have contacted you at least once. If she hasn't well forget about her."
With that I left and went to look for Azriel. I guessed he was in his study so I went there. I opened the door to a sight I didn't like.
In front of me was a girl sitting on Azriel's table while he was sitting in front of her and caressing his cheek. Obviously they didn't notice me and he pulled her to him for a hug.
I felt my stomach churn. Why? Because I was jealous.
I'm sorry Whaaaaat. Did I just admit that?
Sadly I just did. I left the room without making a sound. I went to the kitchen to find something I edible in the fridge.
"Fer are you okay you look upset." James asked.
"Yup I'm good."
I didn't say another word and went straight to my room. I stayed there for like half an hour and went back to the kitchen. But this time what I saw made my blood boil.
I saw the same girl who I had seen with Azriel, now with James and they giving each other adoring looks.
I couldn't help but scoff. Loudly if I might add which made them turn to look at me.
"Hey there." Miss unknown said.
Yup I decided to call her that. The fact that she was so beautiful made me more upset. Unlike me who was petite, she was tall and really curvy.
"Hi." I murmured.
"You are?" I asked.
"Deborah.'' She replied sweetly.
"You must be Fer I'm honoured to meet you. I mean you were only sixteen when you hacked...."
"Fifteen plus to be precise." I cut in.
"Impressive." She said.
"Just don't discuss it in front of Azriel if you care about Logan." James said.
"I don't mean to seem rude or nosy but I just saw you cuddling with Azriel and now you're doing the same with James."
They gave me an amused look.
"I'm not meddling, but it's wrong. If it's James you like then choose him, if you like Azriel choose him. If it's both of them choose one. If it's none, tell them the truth. Don't play with their feelings, truth be told you don't look like that kind of person. You know what I think you should choose Jamie and leave Azriel for others."
"What makes you think that we're not both playing Azriel?" James replied with a smug look."
"You're his friend?" I replied.
They both burst out laughing like I had just told the funniest joke ever. But this wasn't funny.
They stopped laughing.
"Fer you really don't know who I am right." Debbie said.
"Uh..."
I was about to reply when Azriel came in.
"Well Azriel I can't believe you didn't tell her about me." She said placing her hand on her chest in mock hurt.
"Don't be dramatic sis."
My jaw dropped in shock and if not it couldn't go and lower it would have hit the ground.
"You have a sister!!!!!"
"Surprise." Nathaniel said dryly.
I glared at him and turned back to face Debbie. Now that I was no longer blinded by jealousy... I meant looked at her closely she did look like the female version of Azriel.
"Yes, Azri is my little brother."
I gapped at her and when I regained my composure I smirked and was about to talk when Azriel scoffed.
"Being older than me by a few seconds doesn't mean anything."
"It's not a few seconds Azriel."
"Oh wow you're twins!!!!"
I rubbed my arm awkwardly in realisation.
"Well Debbie about what I said earlier I'm so sorry. I thought....."
"It's all good Fer. In fact your reaction showed you care about them both, but one more than the other."
I felt my cheeks heat up and I nodded.
"What are you talking about?" Azriel asked.
"Nothing." She deadpanned.
"Excuse me." I said and went to my room.
I stared at the ceiling, deep in thought. The knock on my door brought me back to reality.
"Come in."
"Hey Fer, I need to talk to you, it's important." Debbie said.
"About what exactly?"
"About my brother, Azriel."
