Simply put, Lucifer cares about you. But he is not the only one. So when he approaches Amenadiel and Maze with a request one day, they're both reluctant, until your name comes up — it turns out Lucifer thinks you might be in danger, and he'd like to keep you away from harm's way. And in his opinion, the best way to do that is put either an angel or a demon by your side, which is why he suggests one of them takes you out. But, it's not as easy as he hopes, because Amenadiel and Maze are both rather eager to spend the night with you.
